  • How to trim your own palms that are no taller than 5ft..
    In this video, I'm trimming Mediterranean (Chamaerops humilis) palm.
    Again, to homeowners, i dont recommend trimming your own palms for many reasons. The (proper) tools, the trash that adds up, and the time it will take if you dont know how to properly trim a palm...

    nice palm trees, great work!
    In Poland, my palms grow rather slowly and such treatments are not needed, but maybe someday someone knows.

      give me a suba, you'll see how in February man fights with frost, so that the palms do not freeze. 😁

    When cutting back a palm tree, don't remove most of the fronds. Some gardeners make the mistake of doing this every year, and the tree becomes weak and unhealthy. In fact, leave as many green fronds as you possibly can on the palm. Palms need many green fronds to produce a steady food supply so that the plant can grow.

      BananaJSSI I agree but if a client wants it that way; I’m going to do it. But when they want a natural trim then a natural trim it is 🌴💯

    It would be nice to see a video on how to treat a Phoenix Canariensis for palm weevil. Great video. I am going to try this technique versus using the loppers next time.

    I was wondering how much you would charge for something like this and what average prices are with landscapers?

    My palm is 8-12 feet tall and I use the pole pruner because I'm not comfortable on a ladder. Also, can you top these palms?

    Do you think its possible to skin the trunk of these palms?

    • @mr.benitezhimself
      @mr.benitezhimself  Před 3 lety

      You can shave them. But you need a chainsaw. It’s not the same method as skinning the Mexican fan palm or California palm

  • @GotoHere

    Can you transplant the small ones by dividing from main growth of palm?

    • @mr.benitezhimself
      @mr.benitezhimself  Před 3 lety

      If a volunteer or “sucker” grows near or next to the main multi trunk Mediterranean fan palm, yes. But I don’t recommend you transplanting the palm by dividing it from its main trunk. Hopefully that makes sense 🌴 great question

      It works well if you cut beetwen the two trunks and all they way down so the little one Get way with a lot of roots
      I seperated a chamareops humilis with 5 trunks and the live well and grow😊
      Just gotta saw throught the whole root system downwards cause the baby trunks are attached to the root underneath too
