In one sense you are right but in the other it is far more important to care for the soldiers than an animal. Animals don’t affect society like humans do by dying. The death of a dog is not as impacting as a Marine or Sailor or Airmen or Soldier taking their own life because they are at the end of themselves…. It is harsh but the truth
Mmm I’m on the opposite side. Dogs are dogs. They may have feeling and ya don’t deserve to be treated terribly but they have no souls. Humans do so I say put the suffering dogs down and use that money to focus on helping vets from offing themselves. Humans over animals any day. Yes it’s sad when an animal you have bonded with through war dies but at the end of it all animals are just that: animals, if I had to choose between an war dog or soldier I’d choose the soldier every time. Because I won’t change on that and logic and reason and understanding of the worth of the two dictates it as well
The bad part isn’t even that it’s the part when they said they were gonna put him down bc all the issues he came back wit even tho he said they come back wit the same issues as people like wtf u gonna put down a person cause they have some issues after coming back from literal war like wtf were yall gonna kill my dad if he came back like tf wrong wit ppl
Sadly, I worked with a woman and a German Shepard S & R army retired dog. Her son was allowed to get him shortly after he got out. Her son's issues took him. She was scared of "butch" and wanted to honor son's wishes. She was using a broom and spray bottle. Things were getting dangerous. I HELPED. The last time I heard from her ---- she was telling me about "butch" helping her up when she fell down in yard and lives to lay on her feet when she watches TV. just takes time and understanding like people do.
I react the same way when there is a dog in a car on a hot day. Thank God the law now allows us to break the window of the vehicle to rescue the dog AFTER 911 has been contacted. I've had the cops and fire department show up and educate the owner.
The dog was in the shade and clearly was only left for 3mins max. She acted so psychotic breaking the window in this instance would've been illegal and prob would've had to have an evaluation for her reaction. She went crazy over a dog doing his job in his job field.
@samkay2199 wrong. Just because theirs shade that doesn't mean the dog is fine and you don't know if it was "only 3 minutes man". She would have been legally correct if she was attempting to save the dog.
@@Denozo88 actually shade can be a BIG difference when it comes to heat as it's usually more cool than in the sun. For me it's golden retrievers. I currently have two girls. My neighbors have two German Shepherds, a boy (Ace) and a girl (Tess) . Tess loves to come to my yard and play with my girls. It's great to watch them play. Plus everyone's tired at the end and we get a good night's sleep.
German Shepherds are super smart, overly loyal, and even with trauma can be amazing members of a family. People who think dogs aren’t worth it any more after they’ve been through hell don’t have any compassion at all 😢
That is cruel. They are warriors that need the same love and attention and care. YOU DONT TAKE A LIFE, OF ANY FORM, USE IT AND TOSS IT ASIDE😢 WHEN MISSION COMPLETE ✅💯
My neighbor had a GSD named Tiger ,he lived to be 20 years old, the wife lived to be 98,the husband about 89 or 90. That was a house blessed with long life.
A dog’s world revolves around their person and they provide unconditional love. We do not deserve them. They are amazing and those “warriors” deserve more love.
People don't understand a dog can really be someone's best friend. Not like the guy who left his dog in the car without the window being a little bit more down or at least picking him up and taking him with you dang you act like your dog is a Great Dane could have picked up the dog and get got it went in the gas station with it that's what I do when my dog I take my dog everywhere only reason why only place I can't take her is work
I’m nearly 30 and I still have to know if the dog lives in these movies before I can watch them. I just need to know what to expect lol. I don’t even care if it spoils the movie I just need to know if the dog lives?
@ashtamarie7561 during the entire movie, yes! But, he retires and lives a wonderful and happy life until old age takes him 😢. I cried during the movie and with the knowledge that he does die but after he retires. ❤
We had a German shepherd when i was a kid. His name was Ferocious. He was the sweetest. Someone stole him and we were devastated. After a few weeks he just suddenly appeared at the door. We were so thrilled. That boy got away from where he was and found his way home. We moved and sadly we had to give him up. He was my hero. Ive never gotten over that loss.
She got lucky normally forces dogs military or police when they retire don’t always get to go home with there handlers now and again the will but. It always
I once was on a German base on open-door-day in July or sth. At one point there was an announcement that the owner of some vehicle was to report anywhere bc there was a dog in the car, unconscious. I happened to be where the dog handlers showcased their work and BOY did I feel that mood shift. Their highest up radioed someone else IMMEDIATELY and within 5 minutes there was another announcement that the same person now had to report to XYZ specifically, in order to get the dog back and there would be no refund for the broken car window. Probably the only time I actually felt like randomly clapping in public.
They are warriors but they are our brothers and sisters too they watched our back and we watched there’s I hope we are doing better with our mwd I miss my boy trigger he was lost in Afghanistan after I got out
Very few people deserve a dog. I remember how they used to retire them "in theater!" I'm glad that they now bring them back home. They never got to choose, they were drafted, and considered as expendable assets. The politicians never funded their return.
Honestly saying that a dog can't be helped is wrong it just takes lots of time and patience but else do you expect from a government that abandons it's vet because taking care of them is an issue
They come back with all the same issues we do. And then people can really make themselves think they aren’t “feeling” or “aware” enough. That they aren’t “human” enough to be worthy of consideration.
Our neighbours got GD puppy, they were rich and away from the house for a long time and planning to come back or something so they gave to the caretakers/maid of their big house. These caretakers were a old couple and the puppy would be bored and energetic all the time. As a kid in high school, I woke up early to get milk and would always play with him and talk with those couple. After a few months didnt see the pup anymore. When asked the caretaker told that the owners return got postponed and they decided to send the pup to a training/military camp. And they said probably comes back after its done. I eagerly waited and used ask for updates. After another few months the caretaker finally revealed that the pup passed away due to harsh training or something. These people dont deserve such companions.
I know, way back when, for war dogs who served and saved hundreds of soldiers and sniffed out hidden bombs, who loved their handlers, after the war the handler and soldiers would get a medal and claimed as heroes, while the dogs would be caged up and euthanized as a reward for THEIR service.. It was horrible and sick

For the record, almost every army dog handler is given the option to adopt their dog after deployment. It all depends upon the soldier. One of our handlers didnt adopt because he already had a house full of dogs and decided he didnt want to be a handler anymore, its a lot of extra work and responsibility and it puts you out front on patrols so it can be more dangerous. The dog anoushka, served an honorable career and is living out her days on a ranch in texas, not only did she help us in afghanistan but she also beat cancer, a true warrior, and i miss that dog dearly. Im just happy she made it to a good home.

In Massachusetts it's the same. A bystander can break the window to save the dog or cat. And the owner can be charged with animal cruelty.
