I'm pretty sure something that already exists from power A if I'm not mistaken. I'm surprised you don't like any of the pro controllers in my experience they are some of the best controllers I've used. The Wii U pro is like the 360 controller in shape, but it's slimmer and less clunky. The Wii classic controller pro feels like a DS2 except the sticks feel nicer and are spaced out more. The Switch pro is kinda like an Xbox one controller, except it feels higher quality and has more features.
EDIT: Both power A and PDP sell enhanced GC controllers. Power A has the extra shoulder button and clicky sticks, however it still has the c stick. PDPs has the extra shoulder button, clicky sticks plus you can chose between the regular c stick or changing it for another regular stick.

    My problems with GC controllers:
    1. The grips are too thin
    2. The C stick is too small
    3. Only one shoulder buttons
    4. The triggers have too much travel
    5. The D-Pad is stiff
    6. Not all games work well with it
    7. After awhile, the controll stick gets loose
    8. The overall feel seems cheap
    9. The buttons are too stiff
    10. Nobody shuts the hell up about them

  • @DaRkLoRd-rc5yu

The sticks feel looser and have less resistance on the pro. Not a bad thing just different makes doing thing like pikachus up b feel different. Its not harder but it is slightly different muscle memory. I do like the x and y buttons on the pro tho as it feels like both a and b have their own dedicated jump buttons above them. I end up using both depending on which button I pressed last., where as I only use the y button on the gc controller.
The c stick is better for smash attacks tho.

  • @SomeoneWeird-vx5jx
    @SomeoneWeird-vx5jx Před 3 lety +1

I'm a say this. The game cube controller has certain things that the pro controller doesn't. The pro controller doesn't have a C stick. So if you were to try to flick the pro controller's R stick it doesn't feel to great with it being big in size. The game cube controller also has notches on it's control. That allows for more precise movements. For example, if you were to try to angle a characters f-tilt, the game cube controller allows for easy movement between your fingers that I could barely get working on a pro controller. My problem with the pro controller in smash bros. (and this one is probably the most subjective) is that the four buttons are all squish together. I have a hard time trying to do a short hop because my fingers sometimes accidentally hit the B button sometimes. With the game cube controller, both jump buttons are strategically placed next to each other so i can press both at one time and then do an Ariel. However, the pro controller has more shoulder buttons. Personally, I see no use for having another button because I use two shield buttons and one grab and having an extra button doesn't seem to help me. Now I don't speak for everyone there. It would be cool to learn weather some people map shoulder buttons to other inputs.
Also and this is important: the pro controller builds up high levels of sweat. That really annoys me

@@colin3ds1 its def. not a necessity for competetive play. the reason its so commonly used is that most competetive people play since melee so they played like 3 other smash games with gc and are now well trained with it. also before the pro came out, all other controllers for smash were pretty bad compared to gc. pro is actually now a decent alternative to the gc.

I like the Gamecube controller for back in the day, but I don't like the octagon shape of the perimeter of the joystick (which is handy for a few game tbh) and the grip hurts my thumb after a while. Gabriel Collins For Smash if you don’t have one any of any if these two yet, I would recommend the pro controller. I think it‘ll have ~1 Frame more input lag (at least in the wii u version it was like that) but the extra button really helps ingame. You can map one of the very common actions to that extra button and have it accessible faster compared to the a, b, x and y buttons. Also due to the analog triggers in l and r the input will be realised faster by the game. Also the Pro Controller is just better with a lot of other games, if that matters to you. Hope I could help :)

I can feel the biased a mile away 😂.the pro controller is 100%better quality then a GC that has been made the same for 17 years. The reason why so many pros have 10+GC controllers is because each one is slightly different. Pros have controllers just for Melee same with smash Ultimate and project M when that was a think. Pro controllers more reliable then GC controllers. I love the GC controllers but they sre probably one of the worst controllers to use to play smash and even pros have said the same thing. Technology has advanced so much since GC were produced.
