I love your videos. I am 71 quickly approaching 72 and I go for long walks, dig in my garden, taking care of my vegetables and my flowers. Luckily, and thank you God I still feel good at this age I don’t feel my age at all so far.
I am 73 approaching 74. Nearly 3/4 of a century. I live alone and enjoy walking with my dog. Unfortunately my dogs are also seniors. 1 died suddenly last month, and my remaining girl is showing signs of life coming to an end. I was fortunate enough to have a remote work from home job that ended in March. Have not find another yet but keep trying. Must admit sometimes it takes all the strength I have to keep going forward
@@audreymaqks I just turned 75, my partner passed a year and a half ago. I can still keep an organized, neat and tidy home, do my own yard work (on a quarter acre lot) in the desert southwest where it's hot as heck right now. I've done most of the yard work for the last 40 years and I attribute that for my good health, keeping active is key. I wish I could have a dog, but the price of veterinary care on a fixed income scares me, and I refuse to have a pet that I can't maintain properly. Have a great day!
@@AZHITW I only have my SS retirement plus an occasional remote work from home job. My dogs are my best companions and give me reason to keep pushing forward. Although I am mostly on a fixed income my pets are given excellent care. I do not subscribe to cable, I have window ac and only cool the parts of the house I use (live near Houston TX where it gets very hot and humid) to not even turn the ac on until the outside temp gets near 90. This is how I am able to maintain keeping my pets. It is a personal choice. I live a minimal lifestyle but my pets are on top of the list.❤ ❤

We don't turn on the morning tv news anymore...after retiring we don't need to know about the morning traffic. He sleeps in and I watch a few You Tube videos as I have my morning coffee. Love Your walks as well as your tips for older gals and being single. Thank You.

Hi Jen. You are an inspiration. I am in my 60s (how did that happen) and am trying to build up the courage to take the plunge into retirement. I would also love to have a go at documenting some of my journey going forward on CZcams. I have done the easy part. I have set up a channel. Now I just need to pluck up the courage to record a video. I am off to Croatia on Tuesday for a four day trip. I hope it will give me the inspiration and context to produce my first effort. Officially (as of yesterday) silver & solo at 61+.. My longtime partner passed away. A long road, but I'm ok & at peace. Silver/solo homestead restart (he wasn't content in my lifestyle). Thank you for the walk & music.

I started a channel at 43 and did one video that got a few negative comments and another big channel discussing it. I’ll keep going. We won’t be for everyone. Love the dog walks. I have 10 dogs and pick up my 11 Sunday. Her name is Hazel and she’s a rescue from Texas. I can’t wait to meet her. 😊
I am in the Rocky Mountains and on Sunday I enjoy these walks with you. We have great trees also! They shelter squirrels, rabbits, critters. Fun!

I agree Jen, it would be good if more of our generation took the plunge and started channels to share their thoughts and experiences with others. I started my channel after the pandemic hit, and although it was hard work getting it started, and there was a lot to learn, it has turned out to be the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. The reason for that being the incredible positive feedback I get every day from people who are looking for companionship - my watercolor painting channel gives them not only support in their painting journey but also emotional support when they are feeling down. And like you, I have never had bitchy comments on my channel. Nor any real problems with spam. There is nothing to fear in starting a CZcams channel. Just yesterday I was encouraging a friend who is a great artist and looking for a new direction in his life to seriously consider CZcams as a way to have his paintings seen. Whatever your interest, no matter what your level of skill, there are many thousands of people out there who want to share it with you. I’m 70 and having the time of my life creating and sharing and helping people survive this mad world. Thanks for sharing your world too, from a fellow Canadian living in France 😊 Diane x

I'm envious of both the beautiful spot you have to walk & your companion. I'm surrounded by corn & soybean fields. Hardly any trees because farm equipment is so large now they don't leave them. I had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to my 14yrold pup.

What a stunning walk ! Your dog sky is amazing! Thank you for being so Frank & honest ! Great advice at the start about starting a channel. I’m over 40 and recently restarted my channel and going for it is the one of the best decisions I’ve made. Learning along the way but starting is the best thing, I don’t regret it. Yes you will get the odd nasty comment but actually there are so many kind people out there and you get to realise the odd nasty comments do not matter.😊

Girrrrrl, I'm in my 40's & not solo and still love your channel. Your videos make for great company. Maybe it's the female to female real talk that's comforting? I didn't have a mom and I miss my aunt's and grandparents dearly, so hearing a kind woman talk about life is a familiar soundtrack. I used to stream video games on Twitch years ago and even there, comments were more friendly than mean, but to only have 2 negative comments is amazing & telling! Glad you keep going, looking forward to watching more 🩷

I really appreciate the wisdom of other "mature ladies" who have come to embrace their singleness. I'll be honest, I have struggled over the past 10 years as a new single. A new relationship that I thought might be a thing did not turn out to be so. Listening to you & Allison "Elder Gal" has helped me to really see that I like having my own space & calling the shots for myself. Thanks for what you do on your channel!

I thoroughly enjoyed this dog walk. It was actually meditative for me. As soon as you posted the option to join your Patreon membership, I jumped on it. Watching ALL of your videos has been so impactful for me in deciding to grow and monetize my Ellen’s Healthy Kitchen CZcams channel. Just since becoming your YT friend and implementing some of what you teach, I’ve grown my subscribers from 330 to almost 380. P.S. it was fun to see my name scroll by on your gratitude list at the end of this video. Though it was spelled wrong, LOL. Not a biggie and not a criticism. If anything, you’ve thought me to put my content on YT and forget about it being perfect.
