I think makers on TV have been very disillusioned with the concepts of love and respect. A marriage without any respect for the person is toxic like hell and this drama is so antidivorce that they just love to promote this toxicity.

First of all, he kept judging Sahiba based on the fact that she’s from a middle class family and doesn’t fit his view of a woman.
Second, he keeps using a very disrespectful language toward her and other women who are not from his family e.g Sahiba’s Mom and Seerat (disguised as a waitress). Bandhe ne toh zabardasti karne ki koshish bhi ki. Uska dard aur Seerat ka diya hua betrayal gaya tel lene, uski himat bhi kaise hui.
