Hello. i have a 2007 regal 1900 volvo penta 4.3Gl... ive changed impeller, sea pump, and thermostat. The boat will sometimes run 175 and sometimes run 215 degrees. Any ideas on what else to check? thank you.
There is no time interval on replacing the timing belt. The manual states: "While turning the flywheel magnet clock- wise, check the interior a and the exte- rior b of the timing belt. Replace the timing belt if cracked, damaged, or worn." Belt should be inspected annually or every 100 hours whichever comes first. That said, good practice is to replace the timing belt after ten years. This is based on general condition of the motor. Does it look like it will make it another ten years, if so, replace the belt.
There is no adjustment for belt tension. One thing to remember is the aluminum block and head expand when they warm up, so if you are looking at your belt tension on a cold engine it may seem a little loose compared to a hot engine.
I have 09 merc 20 hp 4 stroke that dies when I accelerate unless i throttle past that point. I has done it since new. I have cleaned carb , replaced line filters and fuel pump and squeeze ball . Any ideas
Let me look into my crystal ball and see. Nope, it's black. No idea. But, usually when an engine dies on acceleration it is because of a lean mixture. Idle too lean, accelerator pump not working properly or restricted main jet. There are other possible causes, but to identify the problem requires a proper diagnostic, not just random guesses.
