I see so many other large families prioritize slow living and staying home as much as possible and your family seems to thrive on the opposite. Do you ever wish the kids did less? How would you handle it if you had one kiddo who really needed more slow paced days? I have one of four who gets very over stimulated if we are go go go all day. I struggle with wanting to sign my kids up for all the things but also wanting slow family time.
As someone that started homeschooling right after covid, your daily blogs help me to get an idea of how other mom's do things 😊 Thank you!
I think Holy Spirit had you make this video for me! Thank you. I have 5 kids as well, but mine are ages 10, seven, six, two, and seven months. These last two weeks I have found myself feeling very burnt out and a very low place. I really appreciate the encouragement and practical tips to help battle that. I also really like the day in the life videos because it helps me, with a bit of the management of the older kids and the babies. So thank you!
I also have 5 kids, but mine are 13, 12, 11, 7, and 5 😮💨🥲. It's nice to know I'm not alone. My husband and I have been so burnt out with my oldest's mental health, my mental and physical health, finances, life, blah blah. Slowing down during these times is so necessary for some of us, but some of my kids thrive being on the go constantly.
Josie's prayer...🥰Thank you for that real talk in the car. I feel the same way most days.
The end. . .so precious!
I get very excited when you post a video. I have three boys 15, 10, and 8 months. Your videos are always so encouraging.
Where did you get that schedule page in this video? Also, your daughters are just beautiful...but you knew that. Cut cake and chill--love it! I feel you about a mid day pick me up. We have crazy Tue/Wed evenings between church/dance/AHG for my 2 girls and we're about to add in piano practice.
Thank you for sharing this! Your posts are so relatable. I'm a much older large family homeschool mom. We are down to our last three homeschoolers, and I'm 58. Because we are past the toddler and preschool age I take a nap each afternoon. I call it my sista before the fiesta😂. Seriously, making dinner, bedtime routines including reading aloud time is like working a second shift at a part time job. I'm proud of you for prioritizing your need to energize yourself for your evenings. It took mme way too many years to recognize that being rested makes more a better wife and mom.
Thank you so much for this encouragement 🤍 also, I’m totally going to call it the “siesta before the fiesta” now 🤣 thanks for that!!!
Thanks so much, Abby. I especially appreciated your message in the car about starting a “new day” around 3-4pm. I so feel that. Appreciate your encouragement!
Thank you for saying that you are doing independent work/things before doing the morning things together. I have 6 kids 12 and under, youngest is 22 months and I've only ever gotten a few months of doing morning time first before anything else and then I'm pregnant, nursing or have a toddler forever... And I just couldn't figure out how to do it. Thank you for making me feel normal.
Your youngest did an amaizing job on her sisters hair😊❤
🤣
I need that afternoon booster as well! I really appreciate your content, Abby. You have a gift of encouragement for sure, and that sensitivity to where mamma’s might be, whether it be a busier season or a slower pace. We’ve seen you do both while keeping it real and maintaining priorities. Kudos!
Your current routine sounds like it’s exactly what I need to implement! I’ve been struggling with this … kids needing me + what needs my attention! ❤
Thank you for sharing! Love your DITLs! ❤
Love your DiTLs!
I love your vlogs so much! I feel like it gives me a good idea of all of your sit down videos in action. It’s very encouraging to me as a fellow homeschool mom in the thick of it. 💗
I always find your stuff encouraging. We are busy too but with good things like you guys. Have 7,4,22 month and 6month and baby sit 18m and 2 year old. I see people slow living and I don’t want to give up ministry I can’t give up working. It sometimes feels like homeschool would be first to cut and it gives this inner conflict.
But encouragement we can do homeschool, ministry, extracurriculars even husband sometimes working late.
Also seeing what’s ahead with independent work 💃 shows me light at end of tunnel
Oh her prayer just warmed my heart ♥️
Any video you post is encouraging! I love them all. 💕
That prayer is precious! 🩷
Oh my goodness the little toddler prayer 💜
Thanks for giving me a glimpse into your life, Abby!
I really enjoy your vlogs. They are worth watching and encouraging! ❤
I always thoroughly enjoy your ditl videos! Thank you for the extra encouragement! ❤
Growing up we had on our wall that same picture of Christ with the little children (seen behind Bella in the family subjects time at the table). ❤
Do you have any advice? I'm homeschooling ninth, kindergarten and prek. I also have a twenty month old and she makes things really difficult. She still nurses about 4-5 times through the night and basically ALL day. I'm constantly having to sit with her and nurse otherwise she follows me around crying. She is never content and it's so challenging.
What calendar is that? How do you use SOTW for your high schoolers? What do you list on the transcript and do you add anything to it?
I would love beverage
recommendations! I’m good on the coffee but what greens and kombucha drinks do you like?
What a wonderful afternoon encouragement! I agree that the podcasts can seem a little much to listen to for getting through the next have of the day!
Would love to know if you have any favorite Audible books or sermons you listen to. 🥰
I feel like it's Groundhog day when I record them too 😂 but the last one I did everyone said it was so helpful 😅 so I don't know what to do! 🤦🏻♀️
Love your homeschool content!! Where did you get the checklist printable?
Following!
It'll be in a video next week!
Sermons/pastors you’d recommend?
Would you mind linking the buffalo chicken dip recipe please?
I love your hair! Do you do balayage or highlights?
Thanks! It’s called “Lived in Color”, my hairdresser specializes in it, I only have to go a few times a year because it grows out so well 🙌 the only way I can keep up lol
How do you have the kids do narration? Do you have a video?
After what level of aar would you start those books?
Can you link the lunch recipe please? 🙏🏻
