    proclaimed on June 24, 2024 the Universal Day of the Romanian Traditional Blouse.
    On June 20, 2024, during a ceremony held at Vancouver City Hall, Deputy Mayor Lenny Zhou handed the Consul General of Romania, Gabriel Rotaru, a PROCLAMATION, by which Mayor Ken Sim, on behalf of the City Council, proclaims the day of June 24, 2024 as Universal Day of the Traditional Romanian Blouse.
    The gesture of the Vancouver City Hall is testimony to the appreciation shown by the Canadian municipal authorities for the Romanian and Canadian community of Romanian origin, being a sign that recognizes the Romanian cultural and artistic heritage and identity.
    At the particularly honorable event, the result of the excellent collaboration and partnership relations with the municipality of Vancouver, the entire team of the Consulate General participated, together with a number of representative personalities of the Romanian community in the metropolitan area of ​​Vancouver, more specifically, the management British Columbia Romanian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce (BCRCCC- British Columbia Romanian Canadian Chamber of Commerce), members of the Tezaur Românesc group, local Romanian-language media (Rompost TV).
    Through this special symbolic approach for Romanians and Romanian-Canadians in the consular jurisdiction, Vancouver City Hall, B.C. joins other international institutions and organizations that have officially recognized the Universal Day of Romanian Traditional Blouse / Universal Day of Ia, celebrated annually on June 24, which represents the Feast of the Sânziene.
