in 2019 I visited Cairns and Port Douglass. Drove from Cairns to Port Douglass first, then back to Cairns. There was a big storm only a few days before we arrived, lucky to be able to do something. Went out on river fishing boat and managed to catch 2 baby sharks - released of course after photo, they put on a big fight.
