Julie and the Phantoms are more than just actors singing songs onscreen - they're actually a real band.
The new Netflix series, based on the Brazilian series Julie e os Fantasmas, stars Madison Reyes as 15-year-old Julie, a talented singer who lost her passion for music after her mother died. But when she discovers the three ghosts of Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Alex (Owen Joyner), and Reggie (Jeremy Shada), teenage rock stars who died in 1995 right before they were about to hit it big (all thanks to some bad hot dogs, natch), they decide to form a band. Luke, Alex, and Reggie help Julie rediscover her love of music while Julie gives the guys an opportunity to achieve the fame they were robbed of when they died, because the world can only see and hear them while they're playing with Julie.

He's 21 and she's 16!! They wrote the song from Luke and Julie's pov. As nice as it might be to think they are more they are not! They are amazing friends and Charlie thinks of her as a little sister.

ikr my brother keeps telling me why I watch it so many times but he just doesn't understand the magic in it lol
I noticed that he almost said "write a love song" then automatically changed it to "jam" and also in the end when he got nervous trying to answer the question about what he was hoping to see between Julie and Lukeʻs relationship. I was literally talking to my screen saying SAY IT CHARLIE SAY ITTTTT and he said "well whatever the fans want to see." THEY BOTH KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HE MEANS BY THAT LOL. I think itʻs so wholesome the way Madison gets all giggly when Charlie talks about her or Juke. I love them so much, I canʻt wait for season 2, but in the meantime, I will be rewatching the series a million more times
i feel like he doesn’t wanna say to much bc there is a decent age gap between them and he doesn’t want ppl to get the wrong idea.

If she was, then that would illegal whether they are having s*x or not. Just saying this because everyone should know just in case. If anyone thinks it's illegal. I couldn't help watching his facial expressions whenever Maddie would speak and vice versa. It's obvious they both have appreciation and respect for each. I love it and was blushing for them. She's very mature for her age too. #TeamJuke

The way Madison also caught Charlie almost saying “love song” and started smiling and giggling, lmao. She’s so cute! I love their genuine and pure connection. You can see how much respect and love they have for each other. Their friendship is everything!❣️

I love how they became a band as well and not just actors, this show wouldn't be as great with other people to play them. The songs are amazing
Honestly loved the cast you can tell you all became family. Please bring on season 2. Julie and Luke chemistry was amazing and the bands connection was great. You all did so well in your roles

When the interviewer asked Charlie about Juke he got all flustered and started stuttering. I noticed he does that. When he gets nervous he also gets flustered.

I had so much fun watching then re-watching (and re-watching) this show! The first show in a while that I have wanted to experience over and over. I even downloaded the soundtrack because it's THAT good. Great job to all of you and I can't wait for a Season 2 (hint hint Netflix!)

i know everyone is saying they want them to kiss but i'm really glad they didn't and that they don't for season 2 because almost every classic teen show/movie has them kiss. but by not kissing, they're not rushing the relationship and we can see them develop as individuals and together.

Plus Charlie and Madison's age gap is about 5 years apart. She's still a minor so they can't kiss on the show. You do have a point about Juke not rushing their ship

It’s not like they have real genuine feelings for each other in real life y’know? being an actor u gotta do what ur supposed to do and Charlie and madds signed up for that knowing it’s gonna happen either way. Obviously it would be disgusting if they dated irl because she’s obviously a minor but when it comes to acting it’s fine because they’re doing it for the show not for themselves. Julie is 16 while Luke is 17 so in the show it’s totally fine because they’re considered Julie and Luke while ACTING.
@@tsukiru1225 I don’t agree because the kissing would be inappropriate. There’s a 6 years age gap and Madi is still 16. Madi wants Luke and Julie to have a slowburn and more emotional connections with people rather than physical. They wouldn’t want to kiss on screen and the crew of JATP take their opinions and feelings seriously. They won’t force them to do anything they don’t want to do

I hadn't been on Netflix for a while! and the one time I decide to go on, I saw this show. I didn't know anything about this show but somehow I was drawn to it, and just knew this was going to be an amazing show! I clicked on it almost as soon as I saw it! I was NOT disappointed this show brought so much more to the table than I was expecting, and the chemistry between all of the actors really shines through in the show. I can't wait to see what this show has to offer in the future, and the relationships in it to blossom.
