Actually Taeyeon is really close with Key and she was really close with Jonghyun. This video doesnt show it so much but yeah. Even now Jonghyun is a rough topic for me (SNSD and Shinee were the first kpop groups I stanned).
Don't be afraid of getting into SHINee, the best way to remember Jonghyun is through SHINee's music and Jonghyun's solo music. We remember him as of the greatest vocal king and sweet person he was.

Taeyeon trained with Super Junior, SHINee, and f(x). However, Girls' Generation was formed as the female version of Super Junior, and its official sister group. The same goes for SHINee and f(x). That's why they're even more special to each other.
P.S. SMTOWN started with their first generation idols' SM family music video IDs together every summer and winter in the 90s. It evolved into the live concerts we have now.

Jonghyun was actually one of Taeyeon's bestfriends and they did some songs together. You should definitely listen to Lonely and Breath by Taeyeon and Jonghyun. I really really recommend the live performance of Lonely on Sketchbook.
SM artists always collaborate with other SM artists. Out of all the company labels, SM artists has the most interaction. Among all company, I'd say SM's family event is really something too. They have SMTOWN concerts, charity events, halloween party, field trips, workshops, etc. Thats why their artists are so close and has so many interactions. I'd say they literally are like family and I'm not just exaggerating. If you search SM funny moments in CZcams you'll see lots of compilation of all SM artists messing together. They are so hilarious. I wish you'll react to at least one. :)

Also, TaeTiSeo (or TTS) is truly one of the best subunits in kpop for sure: vocals, songs and visuals all ON POINT Totally worthy cheking it out!
As far as TTS being "one of the best subunits in K-Pop" i think the statistics of their record sales, national and international #1's and charting rankings, and artistic awards, mean that as -of this late-April 2021 date, they are still definitively THE 'BEST' sub-unit so-far.
Tiffany really 'took the lead' in developing TTS, which I think was really helpful for Taeyeon who was the apparently reluctant and, by virtue of her slight age-seniority, SNSD's 'accidental 'Leader ( though from everything I've seen and heard from the other members, and just generally, since first seeing her in her 'Girls Go To School' moment, alone on the Han River Bridge, yelling "I can do it! into the night, she was, despite her own doubts, the perfect choice.
I completely agree with you about TTS' vocals ( and songs, and visuals), because, OMG, the talent and chemistry and care for their art between Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun is just...sublime. Though, IMHO, there are other trio combinations of SNSD members that would be just as great ( and distinctive) too. Meanwhile, here's hoping for an OT-8 'comeback' ( OT-9 would be perfect, but I'm not holding my breath) this August, or by Christmas. I'm not counting on it at all, but it would be wonderful.

PS. TVXQ is a 1st generation K-pop group!
TVXQ are basically the reason kpop didn't die in SK in the early 2000s. They were so successful that they opened the door to the Japanese market with Boa for kpop. They debuted in 2003 and are still going (check them out if you like vocals because they have the best main singer in all of 2nd gen in my opinion which is Junsu he's not in group anymore but yeah complicated story). TVXQ are legendary in SK and they're really close with SNSD and Super Junior since they were all trainees together. You will definetly be blow away by their live performances, a lot of people used to say they were the most perfect kpop ever created in terms of skills.

EXO, Red Velvet, and NCT are grow from watching their senior such as TVXQ, SNSD, SUPER JUNIOR, F(X) and SHINee (even tho some of f(x) and Shinee member traine period overlaping with some exo member). That's why somehow their interaction seems more polite and mostly show support or fanboying/fangirling rather than hangout/joking interaction.
But for EXO, they usually interact more behind the camera with their senior esp when it comes to Girls Generation. ex; Chanyeol attend Tiffany's birthday with SNSD member, Yoona and Suho are best friend, Taeyeon and Baekhyun ofc ex-es, etc.
But for RV and NCT they start to showing joking interaction in public just like older SNSD-SUJU moment, since their fans also not have any problem with that.
At first Exo were more shy with their senior publicly although there were still many cute interactions but after the dating scandals it became more tense (the k-Exo-L are too obnoxious in that sense and until now they are) and the Boys tend to keep "distance" but as you mentioned, it is still known that behind the scenes they are closer than what it seems with the girls of SM.
And with RV and NCT they have started to interact more openly in the last time, although I still see it difficult for them to interact as freely as 2G, in general the community has become very toxic and any interaction they already want to relate to idols .

Heechul and Taeyeon are best friends. He is considered the safest male idol in the industry (by female idols). A girl group member (I don't remember who) said on Life Bar (?) that usually the companies give a list of male idols that the girls shouldn't be close with (it's crazy but yeah). But the company always said that they can be close to Heechul whether in private or public. So he is REALLY close to girl group members, females MCs and actresses.
