    I prepared for 4 weeks before applying the tca 13% today for the first time. I am a Fitzpatrick #4 and applied 3 layers. The first layer stung a little and itched and stopped when I used my handheld fan. I waited 5 minutes and applied layer #2. That burned a bit, but was manageable and lasted a short time. I felt I could handle a 3rd layer and that's when I almost saw Elvis and decided that was enough!
    After 5 minutes, I rinsed and applied Alpha Albutin and Retinol and CeraVe for moisture. My skin feels warm like a nice cup of caocao. Thank you so much. I will warn hubby when he gets home later and prepare him for peeling. I've used another peeling method before, but that one took way too long. I like this one better.

      Blanca mcintosh I am also Hispanic and I am very light skinned. I haven’t used any others only the platinum skincare tca peel 13+ . Just go light at first from like on to two layers. And if you think you can with time after you have tried it and line it you might want to do one more layer. It just depends how much peel you want. I’m satisfied with two layers at first because you don’t peel a whole lot. It doesn’t look so drastic. Once you feel you need more than it really is at your own discretion to use more. But you have to have done the peel various times. That’s when you will know what to do and how much you can apply. Watch the CZcams videos that platinum skincare has. They are very helpful. Try also watching Glamma. She shows you how. That’s how I learned.

    Thanks for this. I watched your videos as I did the process for the first time. I now see why people use a fan during the process. I did two layers of 20%, having always had very sensitive skin, and now my skin looks like I've been whipped 😐😆 I did have to use the neutralizer I bought to cease fire lol. Wow. My skin got lots of tiny white bumps but it's not what I expected. I was waiting for an actual frosted look. If I'm allergic, I guess I'll know soon. But the fire has stopped and now I'm just welted and red. The welts are actually stretch marks, so it doesn't sound worse than it is. I'm going to apply it faster next time. I dilly dallied and rushed when the burn started. I recommend not doing that.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Před 5 lety +4

      Oh boy!!! 2 layers of 20% TCA on sensitive skin? That's really too strong. What made you choose that when there are lower percentages like 7% and 13%??
      No, no , no... do NOT apply this again "next time". Next time you need to watch this video on how to dilute your acid: czcams.com/video/Tvd_Y6SLy_I/video.html and then you are going to take your 20% and mix it with equal parts water and create a 10%. Then you can use that on your face next time. You will have a much more pleasant experience.
      Make sure to apply lots of cool compresses and then healing oils like emu oil to reduce your inflammation and irritation.

    • @Nic-pg6pb
      @Nic-pg6pb Před 5 lety +1

      @@PlatinumSkinCare thank you for your honest response. I asked some physicians on a free website for Q&A what strength and they said 15-20% for a first timer, up to 2 layers. Just so you understand why I did that. It's better today. The redness and swelling went down after about 20 minutes last night. I am using vitamin E oil on it as that's what I've got on hand atm. This is on my stomach area, I don't know if I mentioned that. To lessen the severity of stretch marks I got 18 years ago. I've always been so self conscious about it. I haven't done my face yet, but I do want to do my forehead. I can't right now, I have a wedding I'm a bridesmaid in in two weeks so I can't take any chances. Do you still think 20% is too much for stomach stretch marks?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Před 5 lety +1

      Nic Narc ok. Generally a 20% is not too strong for the body at all. You are very sensitive. Do what is best for you and dilute the acid if you need to.

    • @Nic-pg6pb
      @Nic-pg6pb Před 5 lety +1

      Just to update, this process has been very mild. I itched a little intermittently. Just started peeling today, but more like flaking and only a little. Nothing out of the ordinary but also a lot less dramatic than I thought it would be. I'll do more peels on my stomach every 7-9 weeks until the bottle runs out and probably up the percentage a little afterwards. If I see an improvement I'll be beside myself. I hate these stretch marks. They're still light pink 18 years later 😒 I actually don't think I can ever peel my face. When I wash my face with only warm water it irritates it and my skin burns. I know for a fact acid would be horrible pain after that. I tried using rubbing alcohol after washing once and wanted to die. I don't know why that is but I guess that's never going to happen. My face has always been this sensitive. If I did it, I wouldn't be able to wash my face first so who knows if it would even work. And I probably wouldn't be able to go over 10% +/-

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Před 5 lety +1

      @@Nic-pg6pb Thanks for checking in. Yes, we know our skin better than anyone out there and if water is irritating - most definitely a chemical peel will be. Even a mild one like Mandelic or Lactic. I would suggest trying to add in some Retinol .10% maybe 1-2x per week to help your skin turnover more quickly. This shouldn't be too irritating - but you can always do 1 pump of the .10% retinol and add it to 1 pump of something else like the Nano Hyaluronic (super mild, hydrating and healing) and then you would cut it to a .05%. Best wishes!!

    Would you be wary of frosting/blanching with darker skin? I’ve heard mixed things

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Darker skin types are more prone to getting PIH after an inflammatory reaction. Stronger peels cause more inflammation ... so caution and a good prep is required. No matter what though ... frosting is not indicative of any future damage. It is a natural response from stronger acids like TCA. Be sure that you are prepping with a melanin inhibitor 4+ weeks, and also be sure that you are choosing a lower % of the TCA to start with. We suggest 7 or 13%. Work up in layers ... 5+ and you can move up to the next percent.

      It is natural for ethnic skin types to turn dark prior to shedding. You may still be in this phase.

      Hello. 20% on the body? We suggest 13% for the face and no more. If you have ethnic skin then you must pretreat for 3-4 weeks with your hydroquinone (or preferably alpha arbutin). After the peel you can apply a treatment as long as it does not cause irritation. Then apply your healing oils. I would not suggest applying HQ the next day after the peel though... as the skin is tight/thicker and drying. Nothing will penetrate on that day.

      Hi there. Layering doesn't change the percentage at all. It is just pushing that percentage deeper into the skin's tissues. TCA really isn't about the percentage as much as it's about how many layers you apply. It is always safer to use a lower percentage and apply it more times (layers) to get the best results. After 5 layers you will move up to the next percentage if you wish. 'Start again at 1 layers and work forward slowly. ... YEs, a higher percentage can go into the skin deeper -- so multiple layers of a higher percentage will give you a double whammy.

      50% is quite a bit stronger than we recommend for home use. I would NOT suggest applying that and then doing the full face peel. If you want to do them both on the same day ... do the face peel first and once it is rinsed off you can do the CROSS. **I am still concerned with the strength though for at-home use. Hello. I don't have a lot of information here?
      1. Did you prep your skin for 4 weeks prior to a peel?
      2. What % of acid did you apply? 7 or 13% hopefully.
      3. Did you STOP any retinoids or strong leave-on acids 4-6 days before the peel?
      4. Did you apply "too wet" ... "drippy" layers?
      Knowing these things is paramount to how I can respond. Red and Painful is NOT normal if done properly. Possible a little bit of pink hue can be there if your skin is very sensitive. .... But, I can only "guess" here with your description that you applied something VERY strong or did not follow the Manual (steps above) prior to your peel.

      That particular peel is NOT at all like a regular TCA peel. Please begin with a TCA 13% ... or if you are sensitive a 7%. You can start with 2 layers. Next month when you do your peel you can add on ONE more layer. Continue that way and complete a series of 6-8 peels. At that point you can continue ... take a break ... your choice. :)

      Here is a great video on Before/After chemical peels: czcams.com/video/REmyDugvz04/video.html
      We are all different. It depends on what state your skin is in. Do you use REtinol or RetinA every evening? If you do, your skin will shed more quickly due to it's cellular regenerative properties. We always recommend that. We also recommend applying the .50% Luminosity Retinol for the first 1-4 days after your TCA peel. It helps the skin to peel more quickly.
      Another thing you can do is use a gentle face scrub like our Diamond Dermabrasion Scrub OR... you can use an Enzyme mask to help dissolve dead tissues.
      No matter what, it will flake off. Just because the "average" person starts flaking on 3-5 days after a peel doesn't mean that YOU will too. You may just start a bit later. That is all 100% ok and normal.

      Hello. TCA 20 is far too strong to start off using on the Face. Is this for the Face or Body? Please dilute to a 13 or 15.
      Face = 3-5 days to Start flaking and another 3-5 days to Finish.
      Body = 30 days. 10-14 days to Start flaking and another to Finish.

      @@user_noway The Face would be done flaking in 10 days. The Body will take 30 days. The skin starts to dry and then flakes/sloughs off over the course of time.
      Diluting is taking the 20% and adding water to make it a lower percentage. See how here: www.platinumskincare.com/how-to-dilute-acid-peels/
      You are stating that you applied TCA 20 to your face and did not get any flaking? That is highly unusual .. as that is a very strong acid. There are directions that need to be followed. You don't state how many layers you applied ... Though I HOPE that it was only 1 ... as this is too strong for you to use on your face. You MUST follow our recommendations. Our 7 or 13% is meant for beginners on the face. TCA is applied in Layers. Please watch this video to learn the process: www.platinumskincare.com/tca-peel-application-detailed-faq-aftercare/ and please do Not apply again until you have a thorough understanding of the acid.
      You also need to Prep your skin prior to a peel being applied. That means for at least 4 weeks being on a regimen consisting of: Acid (cleanser, serum or toner), Antioxidant (C or another), SPF 50 every day and a retinoid like our Fusion A .15 at night. This regimen will start to turn over the skin and will prep it for a nice even peel. See prepping for a peel here: www.platinumskincare.com/preparing-your-skin-for-a-chemical-peel/
      **I do not know your skin color/Fitzpatrick type. But 4-6 it is Mandatory to prep with a melanin inhibitor (like our Fade Bright or Hydroquinone) for 4 weeks prior to applying a peel to help avoid/lessen PIH.

      Absolutely you could. We have many people that only target treat (spot treat). I DO recommend that every so often though, you do a full face peel to keep everything even. Maybe once every 4 peels or so.

    Hi I did a TCA peel 20 from you 2 days ago. My face seems ok no peeling yet but my chest burned so so bad and now its super dark I'm trying not to freak out. It turned white very fast. I pray I didn't burn my chest to bad how long until it peels? is their a chance it won't peel and I'm left with these dark spots? I'm fair skinned with freckles.

      Did you apply a higher percentage or more layers to your chest? That would certainly indicate a deeper peel would happen.
      The face will peel quicker than the body -- but 3-4 days is average. No worries that it isn't flaking yet. That is normal.
      The body can take upwards of 1 week to 10 days BEFORE it starts to flake. Yes, darkness is common. Please look at all of the photos on our website and in our videos about this. SPF is mandatory right now.

      @@PlatinumSkinCare I did a 20 for all areas. I am peeling today my face which relieves some of my anxiety lol now I realize its working. As for my chest I put it on with a brush and maybe I did to much so I'll know soon I guess if its gonna peel and be ok. But man the pain was intense.

      @@PrinceGBuddha Ok, yes. With a brush you get much more solution - and TCA's strength is VERY dependent on the VOLUME of solution you apply. Remember that the tca will keep coagulating the proteins in your skin for as long as there is available solution. If you applied a thick layer --- well it is just going to keep going and going and going. It is always best to apply TCA with a gauze pad. At least now you know for future use. The volume you applied could have been equal to a 4 or 5 layer peel.

    Hello Jen! I bought the mandelic acid peel and i love it! I wanted to get this peel done cause even though mandelic is amazing at cleaning my skin I do have scarring issues but my aesthetician told me I shouldn’t get it done cause it was going to let me with hyper pigmentation... I have olive skin tone most to the fair side ... she also told me our climate doesn’t help to much... does climate have anything to do with the peel? I really want to try it for Christmas vacation but I’m scared :(

      Mandelic is an excellent acid for treating pesky hyperpigmentation - so I am not sure where your esthetician heard that. Having olive tone skin does not cause an issue with an acid like that. I would also suggest that you start using the Fade Bright Lightening Serum 2x per day to help lighten that more. Keep that up and always apply it prior to any other products. www.platinumskincare.com/fade-bright-lightening/

      @@youareart2035 As with anything that will exfoliate the skin - you will be more prone to getting a sunburn. We don't want this. You will have to wear a broad screen SPF of at least 40-50 and wear a wide brim hat if you can, to protect your baby fresh skin. This is something that you should be doing daily anyways, so most likely this will not effect your life in any way. ***IF you are a tanner though, you would have to stop tanning. Tanning and acids don't mix.

      Thank you so much for the answer I’m really looking forward to doing the TCA
      Also I bought the platinum skincare vitamin C and it kinda burned my skin any advice? But only in one area which is weird

      @@youareart2035 The High Octane Vitamin C will cause a slight tingling or flaking when you apply it. It has a low pH level for the C to work its best. That should not cause any "burn" though.
