Being the youngest of two boys has been both a blessing and a challenge. Growing up, I always had an older brother to look up to and learn from, but I also had to contend with the expectations and comparisons that came with being the younger sibling.
One of the advantages of being the youngest of two boys is having a built-in role model. My older brother was always a few steps ahead of me in life, whether it was in school, sports, or social situations. I looked up to him and tried to emulate his successes. This helped me to set my own goals and work towards achieving them.
On the other hand, being the younger sibling can also lead to comparisons and competition. People often assume that siblings are similar, and this can put pressure on the younger sibling to live up to expectations or follow in their older sibling's footsteps. I often found myself being compared to my older brother, whether it was in terms of grades, athletic ability, or personality traits. This could be frustrating at times, as I felt like I was being judged unfairly.
Another challenge of being the youngest of two boys is navigating the dynamic between siblings. My brother and I had our fair share of sibling rivalries and conflicts, but we also had a strong bond and a deep understanding of each other. We could confide in each other and rely on each other for support when we needed it. However, as the younger sibling, I often felt like I was in my brother's shadow. It took time and effort to establish my own identity and carve out my own path in life.
Overall, being the youngest of two boys has shaped me in many ways. It has taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, as well as the importance of individuality and self-expression. It has also given me a strong sense of family and community, as I learned to navigate the dynamics of sibling relationships and develop close bonds with my family members. I am grateful for the experiences and challenges that come with being the younger sibling, and I know that they have helped to shape me into the person I am today.

Finally, someone points out that younger siblings have their struggles too. And I don't know about anyone else, but I still get scold if I do something bad. It's not like those videos where the younger sibling gets what they want, you know? And yeah, being compared to an older sibling can be so frustrating sometimes. This is coming from the younger sibling. 🥲

Being a only child, but having a pet cat, i can understand siblings better. Everytime my pet cat (Fluffy) used to do something stupid like knock over something or be at the wrong place at the wrong time, my mom would just treat him like, “It's okay, I know you don't mean to do that“ and then turn full warrior mode on me. But being a only child is also similar. Maybe you won't get annoyed by siblings. But parents will still expect better from you and instead of getting compared to your siblings, you get compared to your parent when they were your age and/or your cousins. At least with sibling you could probably have fun with them when your parents aren't free, but as an only child, there isn't any entrainment. My parents may do the chores around the house (since I'm just 12) but that doesn't mean my parents spoil me with allowances. I'm only allowed to read books while my parents are busy, as my dad takes the television all for himself.

I'm the youngest child but grew up kind of like an only child because of the age gap between me and my brother but I'm always the one getting yelled at and being forced to do all the chores (which I do not get paid for) and have no help from my brother or parents and I was literally called the family disappointment even though my brother went to college and caused our mom to be in debt because of it and he still doesn't use his degree...wtf. Btw Ian I love your videos, they always put a smile on my face when I'm feeling down, thank you!

You have no one to blame the thing that you did wrong to and it gets very lonely and being an only child, i feel like i have gone crazy in the past few years(im in secondary school) but i have friends who i treat as my siblings and its been fun. (The only thing keeping me sane is my friends and the internet) :)

In a different type of family, i cant fully relate, im youngest child, but i normally get over 90 in my grades (we have a different kind of grading), but my father SOMETIMES helps me get out of things, plus, my mother doesnt hit us, not me or any of my siblings, but I dont do that many chores and i get robux often lol, but the videos were still so funny

Not all only children get that many privileges that people with siblings get. Sure we get spoiled sometimes but in my household, I don't get that many privileges. It can also be quite lonely without siblings because we don't have someone to talk to, we have our parents but we need someone who has been through these experiences. Also being an only kid is not that easy either because you get so much attention, not that much privacy, constant feelings of loneliness, etc. I honestly don't know what life is like with siblings but based on what I see there is a lot of chaos but love.
P.S. Im 12 yet some people think Im 15!
