Happy pongal folks :)
Today is Shri Tyagarajar Aradhanai (173rd Aradhanai Utsavam), which falls on the Pushya Bahula Panchami and celebrated at Tiruvaiyaru, Tanjore District where he attained samadhi. Every year on the day of His Aradhanai 1000s of Carnatic musicians sing the Pancharatna kritis (5 gems that he composed) at his Sanidhi.
My husband and I chose to sing the first Ratnam- Jagadhananda Karaka in the Ragam Nattai, set to adi Talam.
There are 4 other Ratnams in the ragas - Gowla, Arabi, Varali and Sri ragam.
