Hey Robyn, Thanks for talking about being single. I've been a widower for 2 years, gone through a lot, changed a lot, and I'm much better for it. You go girl - You sound healthy. You're a good example. Glad I watched.
Hi Robyn. I normally never post comments on CZcams. However, your story really struck a chord with me. I am in my late 30’s and currently live in Illinois. So while I don’t have much in common with you, your advice on the single life transfers over to a lot of us single people out there (regardless of our differences). Thank you for posting this, and keep up the great work. I love your channel!
Hi Robyn I'm so glad I found your Channel. I am 71 and moved to the Villages last July. I am single and it's the first time since I have been 16 that I haven't had a boyfriend a husband a dog a boss or a child to raise. I am loving every minute of my Single Living. I go out when I feel like it and I don't go out when I don't feel like it. It's my choice. I still work but I do work that I absolutely love. I've met some people here but I have not made any really close friends yet. That doesn't bother me either. Thanks for your Insight.
Hi Robyn. I've been following your videos. We don't have many things in common, but I enjoy your personality, self confidence and enthusiasm. Thanks for sharing your perspectives.
Great video and a subject matter we can all agree on. Suffice to say there is something here for everyone looking forward to life's next chapter, be it finding a great place to live, finding a great 60+ gently used partner or just taking it easy while you catch your breath. I'm in the process of doing all three and would recommend this video to anyone considering lifestyle changes, even looking for love. Be sure and share this video with others. Thanks Robyn.
Robyn, I love how honest and straight forward you are in your video, I am probably going to move there eventually, I play drums and guitar and I have musician friends that live there all ready, I know I could thrive in that environment, I feel like you do I don't "need" anybody to enjoy my life, take care
Thanks for this, Robyn; and happy early 60th birthday (from a 62 year old)
I took part early on in in the building of the villages as a site developer. I helped dig the ponds build the roads and did the dirt work under your homes and grass. I always thought it was a "old folks" place but as a local at first it wasnt my favorite thing but as ive gotten older (53 now) i can honestly say the villages has brought a ton of culture to our area as well as commerce. I dont live in the villages but have come to appreciate what the people of the villages bring to our community. Thanks for sharing your story
Love this video. Thank you for sharing. More power to you. I'm single and love the freedom this brings. I come and go as I please and make my own decisions. I'm on my own time clock. I admire people who are in long term, happy relationships and good for them but that's not me. I have learned there's a lot to be said for getting though things alone. I'm a much stronger person for it. Again thanks for sharing.
Thank you Robyn for being so vulnerable and for all your great advice! :)
Perfect attitude Robyn.......I have been retired for 24 years and very much enjoy being single as life is calm.....LOL
Great video!! You have really empowered lots of people to just get on out there...thanks for sharing this! :)
That was part of my intent for this episode. Just get out there an do it.
I do soo many things by myself and enjoy the freedom to just do my own thing .. I always find people to talk to if I want to .
Oh my gosh Robyn, I just watched this video and I agree with you 100%! I'm single and enjoy being single. I like traveling alone and have no problem sitting at a bar enjoying a delicious meal. And like you, if I want to strike up a conversation with someone, I'll do it. Being single and loving it gives me a great sense of empowerment. Ok, I may be sold on doing a Villages life style visit this summer. I want to see if I can manage through the heat and humidity. Thank you for sharing your wonderful view of life. Cheers! Ron
Hi Robyn! Love your channel and watch all the time. I am 65 and single and can so identify with all you are saying. I would have definitely went to bill competition with you! My first husband was a Brahma bull rider, always a great time!
Hi Robyn, your video has made it to Australia! I’ve just met a lot of Americans on a cruise here in Aus and really liked their vibe and energy. This got me looking at what is available that would mirror a cruise but on land. I’ve ended up at your video and would just like to thank you for providing a wonderful summary on how some (i’m similar to yourself) people actually love being single and thrive on being ‘themselves’. I found myself laughing and concurring to all
of what you said (particularly the tickets to concerts/events and continuous efforts of friends to ‘play matchmaker’). Thanks again, you never know our paths may cross outside a Dunkin’ Donuts if we are ever in each others country lol.

Robyn, it's called being independent. I'm nearly 70 years young and very active both athletically and socially (for my age, as they say) and I know several people that are single either from losing their partner (spouse) or through bad relationships and after getting over the loss, you need to pick yourself up and start living your own life. Is it easy, no, not at first. But you find yourself trying new adventures and meeting new people and realize that the sun really does come up every morning. I love your attitude and approach to living a single life and being creative with your newly found lifestyle. If I ever decide to move to The Villages, I'll be sure to look you up, to buy a house, of course. BTW, I played night golf once and after the second hole I decided to go back to the bar and continue my round there.
Hi Robyn. I am single and live in The Villages and I appreciate the information that you provided. I do feel like a third or fifth wheel sometimes, but not always. I have many couple friends that always make sure that I am included in events. I also have some single friends that are fun to be with. Thanks for all the information and your personal view. You have a great personality and seem to be fun to be around. Keep up the great content and you do have a great smile.
Hey Robyn. Thanks for the upbeat overview of living single in the Villages. Just turned 70 myself and still as active and healthy as I was in my 20's, 30's and so on. How you described your enjoyment of living single parallels my view of life. I'm looking forward to my Village Tour the middle in Sept with the goal of moving their November or January the latest. Don't know if I will just rent a home and buy a house as some point in the future. But if I decide to, I will give you a call. Thanks again for taking the time to discuss this important topic. Be well.
Very informative I just turned 55 very much single have been considering the villages.. thank you!
Great video. You are strong and smart! Better to be single and free than to be with someone full time who does not make you happy. Kudos out there to couples that have found the right person too. But if someone is "single" the Villages seems like the perfect place to live.
I always wondered about the Villages, I lived in Indian Rocks Beach and St Pete Beach FL. 5 years ago I moved back to Illinois, now I'm 64 very active, single. I was always told it was a great place. Thanks for the info. I enjoy being single, I my move back very soon.
A straight headed woman who know what she wants and how to get! Love the attitude!! Hope to make the move down there in a few years.
Excellent video. I have the same philosophy as you, and will be enjoying my future life in the villages, the same way.😀
I work in cardiac medicine and most of my patients are at or past retirement age. I have had hundreds of conversations with patients, both male and female, that are single either due to divorce or death of a spouse. I have found that women, in general, prefer and can handle being single more than men. Men need a companion, for various reason, while women seem to thrive being alone. The reasons for both sides are multitude, but just in general women handle it better than men.
Hi Robyn, I'm 52 and moved here 7 months ago. I have been single for a while. I am also a realtor® and that takes up a lot of my time however I do find time for some of the activities here. I like to stay active and fit. The Villages makes it incredibly easy to find friends!
I’m 52 also and I would love to move to the villages but I thought you had to be 55 or have a spouse that’s 55?
If you do their lifestyle visit you can qualify at 50. We did it and qualified. These retirement communities can take up to 20 percent under 55.
I was married for 22 years, divorced and single longer than that, happily single! I married the man of my dreams 5 years ago and am now happily married. The point being, happiness is a choice. You get one life. LIVE it and enjoy whatever season your6in to the best of your ability! Get out and meet people, go to movies and restaurants alone and be friendly to others who might be alone. Go to church! There is nothing like a family of believers who care about you! Great show, Robin! Especially zince I listened to another video this morning with a single woman who complained for a full half hour about being single. Kudos to you for lots of great tips!👍
Love this video - Robyn says just what my millennial daughter says. No dating apps, sorry, if it happens, it will just happen. And that is exactly what has taken place just recently where she met a great guy at her church and now in a committed relationship. Robyn is a catch and no doubt will capture a good mans heart - and there are good men out there. If not, no big deal, she will be just fine.
What a great video. Your message is well received. It makes me feel young again.
Hi Robyn. Thank you for the video. I'm a single gentleman in my late 60 who will be exploring The Villages in September with the idea of moving from the west coast. I was wondering about activities for singles and you provided a nice review. Thanks again.
Steve
There are many singles groups and activities. As I mentioned in the video I do not participate in any singles groups. I find myself busy and have a mix of friends in my Pickleball community. There is something for everyone here
Hi Steve
Funny I live in SoCal recently widowed and thinking also about The Villages. Small world!
great into in to singles lifestyle!!! thanks!! We need more confident and self loving woman like you!!
Great video Robyn.
You answered many of the questions I had regarding singles opportunities.
Appreciate you sharing your experience.
Hi Robyn, great video! I'm 65, single, visited The Villages 2X before I actually decided to build a house in On Top Of The World. As I'm sure you're aware, it's much smaller than TV, and more laid-back. That said, my friends and I come to The Villages a few times a month just to hang out and listen to the great live music in the squares. Would love to meet you one of these days!
Thanks for watching. OTOTW is a great community and your money buys more home than in TV
Amen Sister, I am right with you.
Love your video! Never knew all the things u could do there . U sounds similar to me when I was single , I still don’t mind go out by my self .
Thanks for sharing. I'm headed to The Villages in a few weeks to see my Mom.
Having the job is a big key to being happily single. Not a necessity, but I think it helps. I definitely enjoy solo traveling to the Caribbean. All you say makes sense. Enjoy life
First time coming across your channel. I agree that dating sites aren’t for everyone and don’t really put faith in them . I also ride a Harley and live in central Florida. Turned 60 in November. Like your content. 😊
Amen
Been single for 4 yrs and plan to move to the villages in the next year. I think the same way .. if it happens fine if not that’s okay because I love my life how it is.
Living my best life …
My parents moved to a golf course community in Palm Springs in their 50s. They are 80 now, and I am in my 50s. They did a lot of activities over the years, but I am sure there is a much larger breadth of opportunities in a community the size of The Villages. Also, as you pointed out, any activity that isn’t being served, if you have a little initiative you can surely find others that want to participate.
Great info, thx!
You are my hero! I too am perfectly happy being singe, BUT... i have never gotten comfortable doing things alone. I am going to check out your travel channel and hopefully learn from you!
First time seeing your channel. I’m single and okay with it, I enjoy going to local casinos and always meet interesting people. About 6 months ago I met another divorced single lady and we’ve been doing fun stuff. I feel funny doing dating sites & believe you will meet someone if it’s meant to be. During the summer I have ladies come over for pool time with music & cocktails and we have a great time. Thanks for sharing. So. Cal
I am 66, been living in Alaska for 31 years, I try to visit Orlando every couple of years, I love winter weather but I hate the urban traffic.
Single and looking to move to the villages within the year … I also feel like God will bring the man to me who I’m meant to be with . Thanks for this video 😊
That's wonderful advice.
I live in Fort Myers and have a tiny condo, but do things on my own and still have fun too! Thanks for the empowerment 😊
Sounds like you are in a great place in your life. As a male, I would never post that I will be somewhere and soliciting people to meet up. Your term, “whack job” is highly accurate.
Thank you for this video. I would love to retire to TV but the majority of videos highlight couples. Still not sure it it's for me since I am very introverted.
I think you are very brave to do things by yourself, I admire that.
I'm on the East Coast nothing to do over here I'm learning to be single by myself I love this content please keep posting I did subscribe
I'm like you Robyn. Alone but not lonely. I have no problem going out to a movie, to dinner or on vacation by myself. I even went to a Jimmy Buffet concert by myself when the others in my group had to back out. I'll probably be looking for a nice place to retire in the next year or so and central Florida is the #1 spot on my list right now. By the way, I'd strike up a conversation if I saw you at a bar. 😁
You are the female version of me when it comes to being single. Nice to hear there are people of the opposite sex who feel the same as I do.
I am moving to the Villages in May. I have been a widow for 11 years
Thank you for making this video
I traveled single including riding a motorcycle all over the country coast to coast, and other solo travel too. I agree dating apps suck, you will find sombody if and when you want it to happen. Best of luck in your real estate career!
Thanks for the video it's really encouraging me not to worry about being single i will be moving down to west palm beach soon and really don't know where to join
Thank you for acknowledging that not all singles are looking for a partner, some are happy enough as they are. But it is harder to be included without the partner, I find. I wondered whether that would be just as big an issue in the Villages as it is elsewhere.
I do not have a problem but there are many groups that seem to include only couples.
crazy cool! i little bit of hope!
Good job ur looking and Working . 2/12 I was in a Hawaiian hospital for a month . The PT lady in front of 5 others said u travel Solo I'll be happy to Go with U. Be Happy and make $$$ ..ALOHA
I lived in Hawaii for almost 5 years. Both of my children were born in there Mahalo
A classmate buddy of mine works in the villages . He moved there from out of state here . He's told me some stories about that place .
I’m single long time and get you. Crazy this video popped up. Maybe the villages is in my future, if so your my go to Robyn
My grandparents used to live in The Villages when they were retired. I think I'd like to do the same. I'm in my early 40's so hopefully I still have some more time left here!
I will be visiting The Villages for the 1st time next week. Can’t wait. A week in an Air BnB. I enjoy being SINGLE and know that I will meet THE ONE when she is on the SAME PATH as me! Playing pickle ball or at the gym or on the golf course! She will be there. In good time….
Yeah I also am very happy single. I am told nearly daily I am such a positive attitude. I also have been married twice and want to live my best life now. I am hoping to move to the Villages in the next two years from Michigan.
Hello Robyn, I ride as well and also have my Mini Australian Sheppard that rides with me in a Dog Back Pack. I'm 50, looked at the Villages, and it's NOT for people in my age group from what I saw. .....You forgot to mention the upside-down pineapple ....lol
I’m 50 so I’ll see you in 5 years lol. Can’t wait to move there. Looks like so much fun. 😊😊
@@Robyncavallaro I’ll be there when I hit 55 then. Been wanting to for awhile. Hope there are plenty of activities.
this is the best personal ad I've ever seen... and PS nobody kidnaps or stalks 60 year-old women.. that's one good thing about getting older.. it's easy to be single when you're 59 and healthy. What gets difficult is getting older and being alone with no one to take care of you or help you or spend time with you. When you can get around yourself and travel yourself. It's a great life.
After 20 years of marrige with my second wife living single sounds so good. I'm completly fine with being by myself with my dog.
Yes I'm single you're right you are correct you can be content with being single
Very cool video, great content. I looked at a few properties in The Villages, but found everything overpriced, and way to many rules and regulations for me. I'm just a rich single country boy that likes my peace and solitude. I found a nice 2bedroom/ 2bath on a fair size fishing lake for way under the price what they were wanting for a villa in The Villages. This property is 2.76 acres and there is no public access to this spring fed lake.......
Nice, congratulations 🎉. Homes in The Villages are on the pricey side. Happy you found something you love
Thanks for the informative video. I will be coming down in 3 weeks and staying for 3 months. I look forward to exploring the single life as I get first time exposure to The Villages for consideration of a more permanent stay. At this point, I am more interested in meeting quality people for activity partners and anything else is gravy. I'm lucky in that I am fine not being romantically involved with someone all the time.
I AM 70 AND LIVE ON I.03 ACRES OF LAND SINGLE AND LOOKING IN BOILING SPRING LAKES N.C. FAR OUT
buying a single concert ticket is great...I once was in Front Row of Eddie Money...concert was amazing.
My best friend bought us tickets to see Bon Jovi FRONT ROW when they played in Alllentown, where I was living, it was amazing. She told me best money she ever spent watching me lose my mind then they started playing. LOL.
I am 56 & peacefully single for 11 years.
We share similar perspective on the subject.
I watched this, just to listen to you talk & agree with you.
May I most sincerely say you are gloriously radiant ?
I never know what can be said these days.
LOL 😂
Well said on the single life...
I love being single and intend to stay that way.
Been divorced for years, like you, nobody to answer too or pick up after. Being single isn't a bad thing! I will say this though, you are a pretty lady with a nice personality!
Good for you
Hey Robyn, I plan to move down there and I have no issues doing things on my own. In fact I went to an Andrea Bocelli concert on Valentines Day by myself and got an amazing seat! I have always believed before you can embark on having a relationship with someone else you have to be comfortable with being by yourself and more importantly love yourself first! ❤ looking forward to your travel channel!
Sweet. Thanks for watching and commenting
