Alone in a Closed Theme Park - Enchanted Forest in Oregon

- Alone all day in a closed theme park! Shut for the season, the Enchanted Forest in Oregon has let me in to wander and roam alone through this magical place - begun by Roger Tofte as a small storybook trail, Enchanted Forest quickly became the family business, with the whole family on board and making it possible to become a full fledged theme park which still operates today! But the pandemic has hit the Enchanted Forest hard, forced to close, then reopen at only 10%, then shrouded in smoke during the wildfires, Enchanted Forest is in danger of staying closed forever instead of just for the winter - to help save Enchanted Forest, share this video! And of course,

Growing up in Oregon, this was a place I loved to visit! There used to be a water park next door, and a campground that you could walk from to the Enchanted Forest!
The Water Park was Thrillville USA.
This darn video popped up again on auto play and I find myself choked up all over again. As an Oregonian, Enchanted Forest lover, theme park enthusiast and family man, it means so much that you did this. We all appreciate you so much Justin, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
I'm happy to see that you're helping spread the word about how wonderful the Enchanted Forest is. I grew up just an hour away from this beautiful place!
Same I just went today, I last went when I was about four lol
I spent many a day as a child here. Such a favorite place for me. This was my disneyland since we were too poor to go to Disneyland. The haunted house always scared me...so spooky. I see Roger every time I go there...such a great guy. Thanks for putting a spotlight on this Oregon gem.
Kind of wish that I knew him personally because then maybe I could go to the park even though it is a little bit past the time when the park is closed down.
Donated to them. Hopefully we will be able to see this theme park!
I went to this when I was maybe 10 with my family. 19 years later, I'm due a visit. Thank you for bringing awareness to the cause.
I first heard of this place from an episode of Ghost Adventures. It is an impressive place given the work put into it.
I first went to this place in 1996 when I was in second grade and went to a friends' birthday party. Birthday parties remember those.
I have been a fan of yours for some time but this video really put you at the top! I live in Salem, Oregon and grew up with Enchanted Forest. It is a very special place. You coming all the way up here to film this video and enlist the help of your amazing subscribers means so much. Thank you for caring about the little guys and appreciating the DIY of Enchanted Forest and the Tofte family. It is a treasure that deserves the reverence you have given it. I hope this park can be around for generations to come!
Still the scariest, longest haunted house I've ever experienced. It never ends!
I look forward to St Patrick's Day time when it opens again because stupidly I forgot about the park even though when I was in Elementary and Middle School I used to go there all the time.
As a kid I loved going to enchanted forest. It will definitely remain a huge part of my childhood
I went there when I was a kid in the 70's and I took my kids there. My kids are now 17 and 20. They both had their 2nd grade end of year field trip there. Save Enchanted Forrest!
I live in Salem. Love Enchanted Forest. Been there many times. Sad to hear they are struggling. I’m going to see if I can help out a bit. I paint murals here and maybe I can get the word out through art?
Hope to paint your mural with your permission.
Thanks for all you do. Best vlogger period.
This place is just down the road from us! About 40 minutes! Yet haven’t gone here in 20 years! Never even been on the challenge of mondor. This IS Oregon’s only theme park! We must help save it. So happy to have you Justin enjoying something in my neck of the woods!
That “Mean Old Witch” slide was my favorite and most terrifying place on the planet. I loved it so much. I hope it doesn’t close. This place is so unique and should be preserved at all Costs! It’s an incredible landmark and a piece of history that should be shared with future generations!!!!!
JustinScarred you such an amazing guy that cares beyond your years. It is inspirational to see such a caring individual. Many Blessings to you!
Justin’s content is so welcome right now. I loved how genuinely excited he was about the witch.
Thank you thank you thank you for listening and responding and using your platform to help this amazing place.
I love the way the Haunted House looks with the leaves on the walkway and in an abandoned area it gives it a creepier vibe. 😰😰😰👻👻👻👻🔮🔮🔮🔮
That place is awesome. Glad you got to go again. I drive by it all the time. So sad the grandson died in the wildfires.
Ok, that was a good one. Very well done. The Tofte family has had a very difficult year, and it isn't just because of covid-19 keeping their park closed. Wyatt Tofte, the great grandson of the park's founder, and his grandmother, Peggy Mosso, were both killed by the Santiam and Lionshead fires that ravaged an area of Linn County.
It is believed that the boy was trying to save his grandmother as the fires swept through the area. Both were found in a car. They think he was trying to help her out of it, but she had a broken knee and was immobile.
Donations are good, everyone. Please do so.
You go, Justin! I donated my $100 a month ago, but I'm so happy to see you helping get more publicity for the EF. I grew up with it!
I love enchanted forest. It a has a special charm that is just wonderful. The creator visited the park one of the days we were there. It was an honor to see him working on the pinball maze machine in one of the display windows. I felt fortunate just to be there.
An enchanted magical mouse. Oh Justin you are so awesome. Thanks for your positivity.
I just donated!!! Thank you for making me aware of their situation. When I watched your prior video about The Enchanted Forest, I bought their book you showed. I hope they survive, as I have not had the opportunity to visit them yet. GREAT STORY!!!
Thanks so much for sharing! It was fun to be with you on this virtual tour!
I literally want to go there as it’s all empty and quiet. It’s very perfect and amazing seeing this
Thank YOU Justin. This is a great family owned business “The Enchanted Forest.” The Tofte Family needs our help. Even though I have never been to Oregon, I just donated to this very worth cause. I’m certain this beautiful family and 50-year-old landmark will reach their goal. Thanks to Justin Scarred for getting the word out. Cheers from Old Highway 66 in central Oklahoma!
Your such an amazing entertainer, I love it.
I love when you freak out!!
When my mom and I went last year she wanted to move into Goldilocks and the 3 bears cottage 😂 she used to go there as a child but it had been about 40 years since she has last been. She loved it so much as did I.
I hope this place is saved. Places like this deserve to be saved for generations to come. Also if this video is Monetized I hope most if not all it goes to help them.
Just donated $10 on your behalf Justin! Doubt I’ll ever get to go but it’s sooooo cool!
My son goes to college in Walla Walla Washington (we are from Caliofrnia)....now when I take him back up to school next year I am going to make plans to stop by the Enchanted Forest (hopefully it will be open by then)....that haunted house sold me!
That looks like a Super Cool place to visit. Not just the exhibits, but the surrounding landscape as well. I appreciate the backstory you shared with your Patreon patrons!
I'd pay money to be able to download your outro music, as a ring tone.
Just finding out a few days ago that I have developed a heart condition from having covid, watching your videos and being able to let my mind escape from my physical weakness and pain is and has been the best part of all of my self quarantine and now my rest time. Thank you for doing something you love everyday and helping everyone escape reality, you and your family are the best. Thank you again 🙏❤️😊
Thank you for posting this. I used to visit Enchanted Forest every time I would go to Oregon to visit my grandparents and always loved it. Got to take my kid a few years ago on a visit and he loved it too. Going to throw some money into the goFundMe. This place is a true treasure.
I used to live up there (near). Moved away from Oregon in 2013. Thanks for visiting it again Justin!
The best of luck to the family in keeping what seems to be a wonderful place to visit. . I live on the other side of the US so may not get a chance to see it in person but i really appreciate the video and the history of a place that is so well loved by their fans. Thank you for the video and again best of luck to the Tofty family .
On the east coast, we lost Ghost Town in the Sky in Maggie Valley NC. We can't afford to lose something as unique as this. Isn't this the park with the first trackless ride? That's incredible enough to want to save it. Being family, owned, built and, still viable is incredible.
Awesome. I live about 6 hours from here, and it’s such a cool park! Like one giant piece of folk-art!
Love this place, I admit I haven't been in years but Now as soon as things change I'm going to bring a bunch of people and family, great job covering this Justin for its a Oregon icon! #saveenchantedforest
Thank you Justin for coming up here to Salem to help save the Enchanted Forest...praying with you bringing this to light with all your subscribers that this family will get the help they need to keep it going for years and years...I live 5 miles from it and have enjoyed going there for my whole life I am 62...thank you again love all your vlogs...
I remember your first video here when it was open. This place is amazing and needs to survive for future generations!
It's like my dream backyard!
I spent a few early childhood years near Portland and have some of my earliest theme park (anywhere) memories there. To heed the call I bought a T-Shirt and chipped in a bit on the gofundme. Thanks for your great content and 100% thank you for sharing this story!! The Enchanted Forest shall prevail!! Come on everyone buy stuff kick in on the go fund me! Whatever you can do!!
If you haven't been to this place, it is truly magical, it really is ... when you walk around the place and see it you can really feel the work and love that this family and their extended employee family has put into the place. They just don't make em' like this anymore ... anywhere ...
Thank you so much for supporting our local theme park! That family has been through a lot in the last year between Covid shutdowns and Rodger losing his Great Grandson due to the fires. They are an incredibly loving family and deserve all the support.
Side note too about the park, I love the Indian caves. They are pretty big and you would be surprised how far they go.
You are a legend for sharing this Justin. Places like this are what we love about the USA. I hope everyone gets behind this and the owners come out the other side so next time we travel to the USA my family and everyone else will still be able to experience the Enchanted Forest.
One day I WILL go there. Feels magical.
I shared this video with my friends on Facebook. I'd love to see this park get more visitors next summer.
I've never been to Enchanted Forest, but I hope to one day. These family owned places need to stay in business.
Thanks Justin. I always look forward to your videos.
Thanks Justin for making this and for getting the word out about the park’s current situation. I’m a local in the PNW and this is truly a believed historical treasure that needs to be saved. We gotta keep this gem alive and kicking for future generations!
I just added a donation. PLEASE everyone chip in! This is truly an American Treasure that deserves to be saved.
So immersive!!! What a dream come true!
I CAN IMAGINE THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN RODGER AND JUSTIN, 'HEY JUSTIN HOW MUCH WOULD YOU WANT TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT THE PARK AND GO FUND ME?" UM IM THINKING THE PARK TO MYSELF FOR A DAY SHOULD COVER IT
I love that you obviously really, really care about the mom and pop type places across the US, and are doing what you can to help them! I'm sure the family behind the Enchanted Forest appreciates you, too!
Thank you so much for showing us this place love it. I hope they do not close I want to go there now. I donated because it the right thing to do to help a family in need to save a family business I hope others do as well if they have the money too. Take care
I use to go here every summer .. I love this place
Glad to see you back once more in Oregon sir!
Justin, it is nice that you came out to the PNW and visited Oregon and Washington(hopefully) Enjoy your time here and be safe!! Hopefully, I will see you sometime at Disneyland when things calm down and get back to normal!!
Thank you, Justin. Enchanted Forest is 15 minutes from our home and my children have wonderful memories from here when they were young.
You have kept me happy during the Covid situation... many places you share, are places I visited when I was London's age.. or before either of you were born..Lol this one is now one of my favorites. Probably before you began going to Disneyland, my parents used to take me to "Santa's Village", up near Lake Arrowhead. Believe it was also a family owned and run "theme park".
I live about 30 miles for the Enchanted Forest. I have many memories growing up and getting excited when my mom said we were going.
This park looks so pretty and rad! Oregon is such a beautiful place. Not to mention home to two of my favourite movies, The Goonies and Stand By Me. Anyone native for a British boyfriend? 😂🤞🏻
Such a fascinating video. Thank you for taking us all along.
Thanks for another great video and have a great day.
Well done Justin. On behalf of all Oregonians thanks and keep bringing us your roaming adventures
God bless you Justin for having such a big heart and thinking of others. I am certain you have made a difference in the fundraising for this park. Your sensitivity for others struggles is touching. Good luck to you and Enchanted Forest.
I've been to the enchanted forest and while it's a cute charming little theme park, as a kid a few spots used to spook me so I always wondered if it where haunted. This is such a treat thanks for sharing!
No way! Dude, that's literally 25 miles from me. I pass it every day. I've never been inside. It always seemed a little gimmicky and cheesy. It's packed in the summer months though. Glad you are getting some awareness for them. So many of these places were hit so hard. :( And yeah, the noise from I-5 is ridiculous there. Very cool! Thanks for the tour! :D Stay safe!
I’ve never been here, however, I’ve always wanted to go especially since it’s pretty close to me. Thank you for trying help! Hi hopefully we can keep it around!
Now I have another reason to hopefully visit Oregon from the UK one day along with the whole Goonies thing and the Astoria bridge. Hope this place makes it, it looks amazing! I've never had the pleasure of visiting and I may never do, but I'll be making a small donation. I'm out of work myself currently but hopefully every little helps!
Welcome back to Oregon 💚🤍💙🌲 BTW, Mr. Tofte ‘S grandson died in the recent wildfires 😥😭
Thank you for all of your videos Justin! You have inspired many of our family trips over the last few years.
I have been there and it is a fun place for smaller kid's and the prices are great. It is a day's adventure. Enjoyed the video!
That was an awesome look at a childhood favorite of mine! Thanks Justin for taking the time to get the word out about this wonderful place.
Justin. Thank you so much for sharing and helping to save my childhood. This is a truly special and magical place.
Many a childhood Summer was spent here.
A loving tribute. Your passion and raw appreciation for the work represented here is genuinely moving. Thank you.
You are an amazing caring human! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This place is beautiful. It needs to be saved!
I saw this place on Pinterest one time and definitely added it to my bucket list if I ever make it to the west coast!
I was just there 5ish weeks ago, the last Saturday they were open this year. Enchanted Forest is an amazing place and is so meaningful to my husband and I. Thank you for showcasing it! ❤
Thank you for doing what you can to help this Oregon icon.
Thank you so much for doing this video! We go every year and just adore this place!
Love that place. Thanks for sharing.
This place is awesome, we’d love to go here to investigate 👋💀🤘
So cool. My mom would take me here as a kid.
Thank you Justin. What a great tribute you put together. I love when you take us to places we've never been and get us to love it as much as you do. I've been talking my best friend(for 20 years) about renting a handicapped accessible RV to travel across America after the pandemic. If we make it from here in Clearwater Florida all the way to Oregon, we will visit that awesome Park. 😎🤘
I'm so impressed. Enchanted Forest is a treasure for Oregon and the rest of the country. Donated and bought a bunch of merch just in case. Signed poster, heck yes! Thanks for being such a great host to my home Oregon. And I have Randomland stickers and hats, how cool.
Hey this is my neck of the woods! I loved coming here as a child
Love this place, thank you for preserving history!
That place is awesome. The family sound cool!.
Thank you for showing me this.
Been there...never like that though!!! So cool!!!!! Dream Come True!
Beautiful place roger did a great job.
Really great job Justin, thank you for keeping this place alive!
Thank you 💖
I LOVE this park! Because of your last video when I visited my family in Seattle and we made a weekend trip to go with my niece and nephew. Thank you. You have made a difference in my family’s life for the good. We will make an extra effort to go next year! We are definitely donating too!
Oh Justin thanks for bringing this beautiful place to us to see! I hope next year it will re open. I want to go and explore the various areas. Such fun!
Woah! This looks super cool!!!
You're doing a great thing Justin. Nice!
I loved that place as a child, 91-95 ish it had a distinct smell too, not bad but I can still remember it.
