This. I begged my parents to let me learn guitar or saxophone for years. I was told I couldn't learn to play an instrument until I got older. When I turned 8 suddenly I was old enough but not to play an instrument I wanted to play. I asked for guitar, sax, drums or violin. They came up with a reason that each of my choices was a bad instrument to play. 3 years later they finally took me out of piano lessons when I was still miserable after every single lesson and recital, and had never "learned to enjoy it" like they told me I would.

My daughter, Laura, choose the cello to learn because “it called to her”. You can’t find a better reason than that. The smallest kid choose the largest instrument there and the one that required an extra fee to rent lol. She had arthritis and asthma so she ruled out any that required blowing or holding arms up. I loved to hear her practice; you could feel it in your body and soul. Laura died in 2019 from her many medical woes. I use music to help me in my grief and the cello is especially comforting. Thank you two set for being both serious and goofy! I especially liked when you did some teaching with a kind and encouraging manner of giving advice. Much love from Laura’s mom 💕🐝💕

Names Luciano, lives of Cannoli, and has studied the prohibition era and Italian Mafia and I’m currently writing a book on thus subject. 3:50 I’m a pianist, and a Piano can Crescendo/Decrescendo, it just takes enough skill to be able know when to play the keys lightly and then play them hard.
Take Bohemian Rhapsody for instance in about 1:35 into the song he crescendos with multiple of the same octave note (B flat) in his left while his right is playing rising chords that get louder with each change
Next take a look at Chopin’s Nocturne Op.9 No.2 this song is constantly crescendoing and de-crescendoing with every couple of notes if you listen to it. So a piano can in fact Crescendo/Decrescendo, Pianissimo/Fortissimo, poco a poco. All that good stuff. So by your guy’s standards The Piano is a Superior Instrument.

@Isthat C So do I, and thanks for asking that question :-D !! OK, please excuse mini rant here: Gaelic music is not folk music. We have our classical music (piobaireachd - pipe music going back 2-300 years, variations on a theme, very difficult to play), ancient poetic lays on harp, one of the finest song traditions in Western Europe, our popular music, from Victorian music hall through pop, rock and punk to hip hop, our choral music, church music, military music, dance music and yeah, some folk music too (though much of it not anonymous). And it is still being composed, in many genres. Gaelic music is music.
Rant delivered. I'll see myself out.

    Also, something I learned today:
A crescendo pedal is a large pedal commonly found on medium-sized and larger pipe organs (as well as digital organs), either partially or fully recessed within the organ console. The crescendo pedal incrementally activates stops as it is pressed forward and removes stops as it is depressed backward.
