- Colorado State University Construction Management student, Jack Young spent the summer working as a Project Engineer intern at Goodfellow Brothers Inc. He worked on the Kawailoa solar farm project in Hawai'i and got his commercial drone pilot’s license. Jack shares his experience in this video.

finally I'm writing my thoughts down here. Your channel has really inspired me. I spent a whole day going through your videos when I was preparing interviews for a site engineer role abroad, I'm soooo excited about this role. Even though it is true, I didn't realise how much this industry is worldwide saturated more importantly, how this has an effect on the everyday life of Indian engineers I grew up in India and 7 years before completed my B.TECH(CIVIL- ENGINEERING) and now I am doing normal civil engineer job in india !! This is so embraced and I feel this is a headache I still can't move abroad
I am trying it. I want to encourage Indian engineering students, especially those from the Indian community and with lack of English barrier and also it being their second language, to follow their dreams to become an engineer in Abroad.

After being on the front lines of commercial HVAC installation for 25 years I'm considering the Construction Management course at CSU so I can better utilize my experience in the construction industry while maintaining a decent wage and requiring less physical demand on my aging body. I am currently working with a career counselor with Larimer County, can you offer any guidance or support?

@@giovanniperez4787 most places that ask want a 4 yr degree with algebra trig pre cal cal and stats to get into high level construction classes funny thing is they dont need that type of math from my understanding
You absolutely can do this math and more. Please don’t be intimidated and let doors shut because of a small fear like this. Take your math classes at a community college and you’ll get free to low cost tutoring and professors that care

Construction technology is more hands on. You will physically be helping on the construction site. Management is more so organizing the project such as scheduling, budget, etc.

I might be not totally right so do your own research but from what I got from it there are different things you can do in construction management but pretty much your job is to make sure that everything is in budget you make sure the people who are doing the job have all of their supplies when they need them and they plan how the the project but to summarize the whole thing the owner of the land tells you what they want and you plan the whole thing and the workers on the ground actually put the design into works but again I don't know too much about this subject I just started getting into it so do your own research just to make sure

Could you get hired as a cm with a associate's degree or you need a 4 year degree? Because college ain't cheap.

California has some really good programs and not super super expensive. I am at sacramento state, in the construction management program

Don't waste your money on college. I spend my days working with college educated idiots that have no idea what it takes in the field. BTW my degree is in electronics but I work as a commercial superintendent. Go get a job in construction, learn all that you can then move to a different trade and repeat. Field knowledge is so much better than book knowledge.
