Personally I don’t understand why everyone is predicting a heel turn. It was a story wrap up. Cody was willing to make amends with AJ until he fake retired. I don’t see him throwing the steps as a heel turn rather a “F your fake retirement”
I took it more as rock went after momma Rhodes and my next opponent copied rock and he went after momma Rhodes this was Cody simply telling world there's consequences to going after his family, you can push me you can beat me that's sport but go after my family and I will make you pay.

No we don't need another monster heel champ we had roman do that for years. We need baby face champ for something different. Which cody is doing great at he just need a big monster to fight so he can sell Underneath.

cody a different animal remember roman couldn't become a face he got booed after rumble heel was the only thing that worked for him... cody is a super baby face, but after awhile the homelander crazy about being a champion could be special if done right because it's hard to hit cody.. similar to the rock
Nobody is saying Cody turn right now but at end of his peak popularity when he's cooling off maybe he loses belt and that's what pushes him over edge it dosnt have to be as champion.
Plus Damien priest is going to turn babyface with rhea when she returns so a heel Cody as champ would work too

He has to go heel at some point, I’ve been like story plotting about how they could do it, and I think the coolest way to do it is to have Cody slowly sink into madness to preserve the integrity of the championship, starts doing despicable things while believing he’s doing the right thing. Like Thanos. That way it doesn’t seem out of character.
Cody needs some character development, that's all. Clash at the Castle did a lot for him as champion.

I think heel Cody will be the best Cody we have ever seen... My only problem is I'm tired of seeing heel champions... The good guys NEED to hold the belts for a little bit ( 6 months minimum ) just to show that good can win over bad... Always having a bad guy win sends the wrong message... I also understand writing for a heel is much easier than writing for a good guy and it's usually more entertaining for the fans...
What if Cody became Stardust again but done right. As a heel and Stardust's entrance music was dope in my opinon

I really hope it happens. He kept insisting live on AEW television, that he would never make a heel turn, even though the fans were ready for it, and they wanted it, and ironically, it would have been Hollywood Cody. him, and the rock actually have more in common than one may think. A lot of his face promos, just lack that piss and vinegar that is necessary, especially when you think of some of the things he doesn’t some of his matches.
atm he's the biggest face since Steve Austin and the rock and maybe the biggest pure good guy babyface since Hulk Hogan in the late 80s, I think you ride it maybe it becomes split after he works with rock next year but I think you ride it at least until after WrestleMania 42,
I like the idea of a heel Cody but I feel like he would need a Hall of fame as a manager and possibly be leading a 4 horsemen type stable like an ego driven were the best type group IMO..
They wouldn’t turn them all heal, but a faction with him, Orton, and Owens would definitely be good. Orton and Owens already proven they can be fantastic heels.
I don't love the idea of any kind of turn on this first title reign. The whole thing is a goodwill moment that was years in the making, it would be a shame to squash it by trying to fix something that isn't broken. Eventually, Cody would be a great heel because he has some personality quirks that are a bit heelish. But timing is everything, and if there isn't a guy ready to take #1 Baby, Cody should stay the #1 babyface. The WWE has a ton of great heels to toss at him.
Is it not true that part of Cody's deal was to not be a heel ever again? I don't see it happening but I'm prepared to be wrong!
