  • One of the Two Motets of Johannes Brahms “Why has light been given to the weary of soul” op. 74 performed the WDR Rundfunkchoir under conduction of Peter Dijkstra as part of the concert “Kunst der Motette” on the 5th of april 2019 at the Trinity church in cologne.

    Thank you for posting this. It helped me prepare for our performances of this work in concert this weekend with The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. Beautiful execution by your ensemble!

    Thank you so much for this. What a wonderful choir - the sound is so rich and rounded. The Op 74 motets have to be among my favourite works of Brahms. Well conducted by Peter Dijkstra (known to me through the outstanding Netherlands Bach Society recordings on CZcams). Perhaps a little slow in my opinion, but I am pleased that I have heard a performance at this speed. A profound work, beautifully sung - just what I needed in these times.
