@Flippaarn i think she is just naturally thin, i didn't mean strange as in bulimia or anorexia! steve albini in an interview said "Polly Harvey ate nothing but potatoes, with occasional sauces, during the entire recording of her Rid of Me album.", so things like that.. but she's later mentioned a couple times that she makes it a point to eat healthy.. "lots of fish, vegetables, and whole grains".
@Cyrus2182 i don't think she's ever been a junkie! from an interview in 2000: When I ask if any drugs or alcohol were involved, she responds:"I didn't choose those methods of destruction, but there were others. I'm out of that now. I'm healthier than I've ever been, and much more aware of eating well.", i think this refers to her strange eating habits, not anorexia or bulimia though! and from another interview in 2000 she said "I've never got into drugs in a big way. I just don't need it.".
why aren't there more women like this? women that can figure out how to be mind blowingly sexy without being generic or following normal avenues? why aren't there more women who strive harder to be interesting than hot? more importantly, why after living in Milan and Paris and Amsterdam for years, did i move to Toronto? i'm so bored i have to watch PJ Harvey interviews on Saturday evenings.
I like the way her west country accent come and goes in the interview. Ever since 'White Chalk' her fashion statements have gotton rather awry though. Feathers and jellyfish over a white Victorian dress at the NME's! My cousin's a fan of hers too, if not quite as big a fan as me, he told me she used to be a junkie! Is that true? 'Let England Shake' has not been as easy a sell to me as previous albums but I'm coming round to it.
