if you literally cannot go to the nether to get the materials for a fire res potion then you should use sand or gravel to clear out lava pools, don't use glass. it's not going to help you clear out anything unless you want to make a base in the lava pool and get a good look at the burning hot orange liquid

I agree, on my main survival world I have traveled SO FAR in the Nether and not found any fortresses. (I found THREE Piglin bases, too…)
BTW, just to clarify, I need the fortresses for blaze rods/powder for brewing and brewing stands. I have everything else needed for fire resistance potions…

Use the F3 menu alone. Even if you are staring through lava, it still informs you what block you are looking at.
Not practical for Bedrock players tho
Its work in bedrock you gotta go in 2nd person and make the pov in full mode and get the diamond

I also got a tip for this. Mineshafts are good for those large veins because they are a structure they generate after the ores so you can get veins of 8 exposed because when they generated they weren't exposed to air

Think about it: caves are a natural formation and would likely affect the likelihood of ores forming, but mineshafts were built by ancient people TO MINE, so they should have more ore available. If anything mojang should make it so more ore spawns near mineshafts to help justify their existence

You can also use f3. On the right there is a line that tells what block you are looking at. And lava doesn’t count there.

Terraria players mining hellstone ore: look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power.
Other tip: when faced with a lava pool, toggle the f3 menu and look around at the lava pool. Now, just look at the targeted block section and you'll know if there are diamond ores.
Sadly this only works when the blocks are within reach. If it's deep, then you won't be able to know.

You should try the combat snapshots which change the combat to somewhat mix 1.8 and 1.9 pvp. It adds really interesting changes like attack reach. You can look up "combat snapshots" or "1.19 pvp" (no actual combat changes in 1.19)

alternatively if you arent against cheeky methods, theres a fabric mod that disables lava fog altogether. i recommend ender pearls or elytras and fireworks for lava navigation, though fireworks are a considerably expensive method.

Another tip that is something pretty similar to this is that when you see a pool of lava, hitting f3 while looking at a block underneath it can shows u what block it is

However, it doesn't work on bedrock edition, but what does work is if you place a slab on the top half of a lava block, then jump in the lava with fire resistance and float up to the little air bubble under the slab. Try to align your body perfectly to see everything, which isn't too hard
Tip go to mineshafts because the rails can cover diamonds meaning they are not expose

That's actually very useful indeed when you've got underwater breathing and fire resistance potions available along with the night vision one. Night vision really helps in scenarios where your exploring caves that are very large.

When I find diamond ore in a large cave I just mine the blocks around it because often there’s more of it that isn’t directly connected to the initial block of ore. Plus diamonds are easier to find now, if you ever find a deepslate cave that’s decent in size you’re guaranteed to find some there

Hey camman! I found a strange feature in bedrock edition! If you crouch while “inside” a gate, you cannot uncrouch! I haven’t tested it with doors however.
