    I really love how short and precise are your videos. So far best CZcams channel ever.

    I just rented the 85mm f1.4 lens and will probably rent this lens when I go up to the Mountains in June, it looks like it will do very well in a mountain type environment

      I used it to hike up some mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park and wasn't disappointed !

    Thanks for sharing your experience with this lens. I was wondering either I go for it or primes. Your video is leading me towards the first choice !

    I really wanted a full frame.. and that z5 is the chespest right now its 1400 or so.. and so my question is do u think I took the right decisión getting the z50 instead of the z5? I was thinking of this 24-70 its almost 2000$ ... Im so confused ... I really need someone to help me with this.. ( I really wanted my first full frame... but ended up getting that z50...its not bad tho.. but I dont know if the z5 wouldve been better to shoot portraits and weddings and stuff like that

    what is a good all around lens for a D850?

    • @willsfrantz
      @willsfrantz  Před 3 lety

      thats a tricky question to answer. if you want ONE lens to do "all" things... the Nikon 28-300mm would be a good option. Or the Nikon 24-120mm. Both are very solid - however both won't show the maximum potential of a D850.

    • @willsfrantz
      @willsfrantz  Před 3 lety

      @Allen Young agree its probably one of the best premium 'go-to' lens for this D850 and similar.

      24-70 is the best all around lens. It should be the first lens you buy. after that the 70-200

    VR is so unnecessary for this focal length.

  • @Audimann
    @Audimann Před 3 lety +4

    The VR version is about 2K and that is way to high and the saddest part is that the old version is sharper at all f stops in the center. On the edge the VR is a bit better but not by much. And the old version is from metal. Got the old version second hand in mint condition for 900 bucks and that is just fine on my D850.
    Sometimes I think that there are two Nikon companies; the first one that makes good and legendary stuff like the D850, D500 and the iconic D700. Guess that this company is runned by engineers instead of ignorant marketeers. The second Nikon company is responsible for multiple screw ups, cameras with multiple callbacks like the D750, as far as I am concerned the whole Z line up ( just my personal opinion😉) and other weird decisions. Think that even the ignorant marketeers have nothing to say there. My guess is that this Nikon company is runned by squirrels being fed spoiled pistachios😆😆

      So what would you recommend ?
      VR for full price , or used non-VR for $650 ? Camera is D810.
      My old non-VR version got busted in Mesa Verde NP, and I miss it a lot .
      Looking for excuses to update to VR version, but price the price is so high !!!

      @@mar1video Get the non vr. Prices are now around 500 to 600 indeed. I am going to get another one.

    Whats your problems guys ?? Why to stick the music in your videos ?? though you have a no-good taste of choosing matching music with video subject ...sucks...

    • @willsfrantz
      @willsfrantz  Před 2 lety

      thanks for that feedback - mostly meant to be a camera review, but will consider some different music choices next time. access to royalty free music isn't always cheap for those doing this without profit.
