You guys do gorgeous work! I love these old 80s toyotas and have a couple of them, and if I ever hit the lottery you guys will be one of the first calls I make to redo my 87!

Very nice especially the details, I believe the movie use 2 possibly 3 trucks. There was a documentary on the movie with actors. If you could pause the scenes in the movie, the flatbed tow scene that's the 85 look closely at the front. the garage scene where the door opens the front axle and also zoom in and you'll see the SR5 buckets. the drag race scene look at the part where Marty is sitting in the seat plastic covered head rest with no SR5 markings also when they show the front end IFS. I own the 85 solid axle EFI holy grail truck fully loaded power everything including antenna but in white.

Yes they used 2 or maybe 3 trucks. We restored the movie 2 & 3 truck and was in the Netflix documentary and discovery Channel documentary on the film. If you view our channel you will find the restoration on the screen used truck.

I recently inherited an 86 Toyota Pickup and it’ll be my first project car. This video is my new inspiration for some of the things I want to do to it.
I want to replace the suspension and possibly get some extra height, but I don’t want a body lift. How did you get the 2in lift? Any recommendations for how to do it properly would be appreciated!

Is it usual to spray the frame without compete disassembly of chassis and suspension components? Springs, hangers, bushings, bolts, axels, etc?

All depending on the budget customers wanted to spend. Came out nice for what it was

Are you able to make it a solid front axle like the 85?

Were the front and rear bumpers produced by Toyota at the time?

@@beefy3361 I hope we get an answer. Doesn’t have to be an exact figure (because we know, it obviously depends on the condition), but a price range would be nice. So I can start planning
