On board RS 800 1144 for the 2019 Fernhurst Books Draycote Dash
2019 saw a bumper entry of 117 boats for the first event of the Selden SailJuice Winter Series. This video show highlights of the second race on Saturday from on board RS800 1144 who went on to finish 4th in the overall standings.
The event is run with GPS tracking from TackTracker and SailRacer kindly allowed us to supplement our race footage with their playback in this video.
The Draycote Dash is a large winter handicap event held at Draycote Water Sailing Club and the first in the winter Selden SailJuice Winter Series.
The Dash is made up of four corrected time races on Saturday around a trapezoid course with the large entry split in to three equal sized fleets who each have their own start. The races last 30-40 minutes and participants complete as many laps as possible before an average lap time is taken, and then corrected according to the boats Great Lakes Handicap. The Sunday is a 'all in' large pursuit race, which unfortunately did not go ahead this year due to non-existent wind on the Sunday.
