Thank you! I've been wondering how to handle laundry on a cruise. This is the first video I've seen covering this topic.
Glad it was helpful! We used to overpack, but learning how to deal with keeping clothes clean and fresh has really helped us so much.
Powdered detergent works pretty well for hand washing because it is easy to adjust the amount used. I have found washing with liquid makes my hands feel excessively sticky, clothes were fine. If you want to get really fancy get a waterproof bag( not plastic grocery bag or ziploc) put water, detergent and clothes in seal the bag and agitate. Then you can rinse out with clean water and let dry
hi @emilynordt153, thanks for contributing! Yes, powdered detergent is a great idea. We've never tried the waterproof bag method. Have you been successful with it?
I had honestly never heard of the power sheets. Those are handy!
Yes! We got them specifically for the cruise, but liked them so much we even use them in our washer at home now.
I was going to suggest the waterproof bag and put clothes in there with sheet detergent. Also, the shower walls/ceiling are magnetic and I use those to hang my clothes to dry (after I roll them in the towel). Also, roll your clothes and then put them in the supplied laundry bag. On Wonder transatlantic I had some T-Shirts washed and they ruined half of them. Don’t let them wash the nice stuff.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. We agree....don't send clothes to be laundered that can't handle high heat. Bummer that your shirts got ruined.
