The notorious Poole level crossing on the high street in the town centre.
There are four warning lights along with a further four pedestrian lights here, two alarms and two barriers. This crossing is manually-controlled from a signalling centre in Basingstoke. There's a narrow footbridge to one side which pedestrians can use when the barriers are down.

All that is certain in life are death, taxes, and someone trying to race the barriers at Poole LC.
People with pushchairs seem to be the worst. If they become caught between the barriers they’d probably say that the red road lights and audible alarms weren’t working 😮
