Man, what an awesome way to be there
another excellent trip, always enjoy it
Thank you!
The season has been great actually......The Basin has endless possibilities. There is the obvious, then there are beautiful smaller hits everywhere in any condition. It allows one to turn off the spoon feeding from satellites and influencers and just live a beautiful analog life....
Love it. Any particular highlights?
so fun
Another great video, and so cool to see the approach on bikes. Nice way to do it .
Thanks! I appreciate your appreciation haha, always fun to know folks enjoy these little vids
Beautiful!
Super cool and unique skiing, cheers
Thanks!
Always enjoy your vids! When the cheapest, daily lift ticket I can find is over $100 bucks...
Thanks!
Bitchin' Camaro! You among us are some of the few that know...........Pinon's are GOD! Also among the few that know.....That skiing rock gardens are part of the experience. Handy tip when faced with the steeps in said rock garden......(and I'm sure you know), Keep the skins ON!🌭🌭🌭🌭
Rock garden skiing is often one of the highlights haha. I hope you are having a fun season down south.
Pinus monophylla for life!
It seems like you're right on the edge of what's possible. Love it. I'm curious what your strike-out rate is.
That's high praise, thank you. Perhaps surprisingly, it is rare we totally bungle an attempt at a new spot. Over the years I have gotten far better at knowing how to interpret snow and weather forecasts for these remote areas. Many of these zones don't need much coverage to be plenty skiable!
What would you say is your top 3 favorite Moment Skis? Or at least the 3 Moment Skis everyone should own?
Oh boy, lots to say here! My current quiver is pretty phenomenal. I have the DWT 104 in 179 for big vertical and long spring missions, hopefully getting a new and lighter boot this spring to pair with it. My day-to-day workhorse setup is the DWT 112 in 184 pushed around by my Dynafit Radical boots. Then, for shorter tours, pow, and the occasional resort day I have the Chipotle Banana in 186 also mounted with the Voyager bindings and powered by my Radicals. Love them all! With the exception of its (understandably) poor performance on smooth firm snow, the CB has been blowing my mind in every other condition.
@@skiingthebasin have you seen or heard anything about the Meridian Tours, and do you thinks it possible to tour ski any of the Moment non tour models? Or will the skin’s clip will fall off the back?
The chipotle bananas I am using are not originally designed for touring and I have not had issues with the Pomoca style skin clip staying put...just made sure to take the time to properly tension it first. I have also toured on the Moment Countach (also a resort layup) and it had no problem holding a skin.
I think the Meridian Tours could be my next all-around pair. They are essentially a slimmed version of the CB (the 181 MT perfectly matches the shape of the 186 CB, just has less tip and tail rise). Given how fun and capable the CB is, I imagine the MT would be a real hoot for a daily driver. Doesn't hook up in funky snow, playful, yet solid
Basin footy > Japan footy
Ha! I mean...I can't disagree, but Japan was amazing!
