As much as it sucks getting old, hearing this theme reminds me of how blessed I was to have grown up in the 80's. What i wouldn't give to be able to go back to those days...and it has nothing to do with regaining my youth, it's about experiencing how awesome life was back in those days. Just hearing this reminds me how awesome it was back then.
Exactly. Now we have supermodels and feminists cast into every movie and all they make are remakes and reboots. Barely anything good now. People like him give me hope that we can eventually rise back to the top and kill off this "snowflake" trend. Sadly, with TikTok being so big, and BLM and 3rd wave feminism being so powerful and trendy, I doubt that will happen for a while. We have so many resources that we didn't have back in the day, yet we refuse to use them for good because some blue-haired attention whores might shed a couple tears because their fat asses aren't "represented" enough in media. And also, it feels like free speech is slowly rotting away. Everyone is being exploited for money and the crazy tinfoil hat people are starting to seem more sane and reasonable every day.

That was Larroquette's ad-lib. I think it's on the DVD behind-the-scenes that he recalls Reitman asked him what a loofah was, and I think his response was something like "Trust me, it's funny."

Great composers like Elmer here makes me feel so proud,honored and blessed to have such an extreme fond love for film scores such as i do. Just recently concluded my wonderful Elmer bernstein soundtrack collection with this blazing militaristic score to Stripes by finally getting it on CD recently. The genius of Elmer with this score is conjuring up just the right classic military sound for this wild adventure. The blazing horns and drums gives this terrific score just the right style for the military. An amazing year for Elmer as '81 saw fans witness 3 great scores released by him,An american werewolf in London,Stripes and my favorite score by him the unbeliveably monstrous Heavy metal!!!
Such a great movie. I can appreciate it way more now since I am a US Army veteran. lol I can totally relate to, "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarmy Training, Sir!"

I was thinking the same thing the other day watching an old Back To The Future trailer. I couldn't come up with one movie with a memorable theme past 1990 except for maybe Batman, Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park. The 70s-80s had some of the best theme musics ever. The Superman theme, Back To The Future, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Police Academy, Top Gun to name a few... I'm sure I'm forgetting some other known ones.
