I got the braded lines from Quadratec for my ZJ for a 2-4 inch lift and had zero issues. I was replacing all of my brake lines and it seemed like a good time to upgrade.
Great video with good information . I use long braded brake lines on my TJ and they were about $ 130.00 for the pair . Looking forward to your next video . Until next time take care Robbie .
AutoZone has extrended brake hoses for the cherokee that cost almost the same as the stock hoses for the YJ. No extra work required and it bolts to the factory location. Great vid as always. Keep em coming.
I wonder if you have any suggestions. Put a 4in lift on my 71 K5. Rear brake lines are too short. Do you know of any Chevy years that may be compatible. Awesome video, explained well. Ty
Thanks for the tip Rob. Good to know about options. The problem I'm having right now is my e-brake cables are too short. Its resting on my muffler and is starting to stretch. Sitting on about 7.5" of lift in the rear after the shackle relocation. Ideas?
Well my ebrake is not even connected for that same reason. But I have heard that passenger side (you would need 2 passenger side) cables off a yj are like 4 inches longer and people use them.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 I've almost wrapped up a massive project build on mine xj should net 8.5" lift all the way around I have a ford 8.8" is there any options for e-brake cables for me as I don't want to be illegal if DOT stops me it will be a fairly used rig for my commuting fir a few months as my other xj tranny is going out any ideas would help me out?
Hello. New to the channel.... I have an un-molested basic 95 Jeep Cherokee. It’s a father-daughter project. Your opinion on a 3” to 4” lift. Which brand... Zone, Rubicon Express, Rough Country, or Other. New to this world. And I’m look for a complete kit. Thanks for your thoughts.
I worked at O'Reilly for a while. If you wanna go that route (with a warranty), they also sell "factory extended" brake hoses
They are almost as much as the aftermarket
Video comes just in time! Ordered my lift kit for my xj yesterday.
Did this same mod on my xj 8 years ago. It's the perfect cheap brake line mod. And the dodge Dakota rear is great as well
Also running the same set up
@@coolHandLuke5150 what year dodge dakota? im replacing all my lines.

FYI Rockauto sells extended brake lines on the cheap. They are listed right next to the regular ones on the site.
thanks for this tip! thats awesome
I’m glad I found this channel. Might be buying a 2000 XJ Sport.
Do it and you will be hooked for life
Obviously you love your XJ, what size tires can I put on with a rough country 4.5 lift? Hopefully getting the Jeep today.
Prob 33's with some minor trimming

How much longer are they?
@@MuddyBeards4X4 4" over factory length. Also got the rear extended hose too.
Dud3Man what you search for rear extended line. I found front but don’t get anything for rear

Nice job Robbie. Now lets figure out why your tire is rubbing on the control arm...lol..
Too wide of tire (14.50) on stock width axles.
Dan Hambrick - good eyes Dan! 👀
Great video very informative as always
Great video, very informative. Did you have trouble bleeding the brakes?
Nope no problems at all. Thanks for watching
1999-2007 Chevy Silverado front brake lines are 27" long but yous need a 3/8 to 7/16 adaptor.
Wow that would be 9 inches longer.
Kind of wondering if the tire will rub the brake line sense it already rubs the lower long arm where the line goes right past it?
It clears when I just turn the wheel at full lock. It moves just inside the tire
Nice mod! I need to do that on my XJ
Definitely cheap and easy
Excellent information!
Thanks! 👊
Great info! Good video again!
Thanks man

You good sir just gained a subscriber
Right on 👊
What about th rear break house?
Crown performance lines are about 80 bucks if I remember correctly on quadratech free shipping
Ps I know these are way cheaper like only 25 bucks but just putting it out there for people who think aftermarket are crazy exspensive
I actually was looking at those. They look nice. And that's a good deal
Cool but it looks like the tire will rub on it like it has been on your control arm. Will it get pinched when turning sharp to the right?
As the knuckle turns so does the line. It clears the tire in my garage at least, but I'll find out if it does or not on the trail
That was my question as well!
What about the rear? That’s the main limiting factor for me and I have factory lines on the front. With a 4” lift.
Great video!
🤘
great vid, who can tell where to find those cheap breaklines he's talking about?
I think i got them off rock auto
Muddy Beards 4X4 thanks a lot muddyman 😃

Right on man, welcome to the jeep world. I have always been partial to rubricon express. Although I have heard great things about zone lifts too
I love my Rubicon Express rear shocks and extended front swaybar links.
What size lift do you have
About 5.5
Is that the Dana 30 axle
Sure is
What’s the website did you get that break line from??
I think it was rock auto
And that was a extended longer break line?
What was the part number that you bout it from.
Lol I already have a yj what can I get on the cheap
The c1500 lines lol. Should also work on the yj with the same slight modification
I have a yj front axle in my blazer, those same lines work, but one edge needs ground down, so that they sit flush against the mounting surface.
