@@thepreserver83There is already a mortar carrier variant. While old, the M113 is still great as a battle ambulance, mortar carrier, command vehicle, supply vehicle, etc. it just happens to be used like an IFV by many, when it shouldn't be.

Changing the power pack, changing the tracks, changing the turret, changing the electronics, adding add-on armor, then will remain the hull only, which is the cheapest part. For research, design and testing, is needed more money than to produce 100 brand new tanks.
Then why you dont build a new design- tank?!
All your claim on this video is SCAM.
Old tanks maintain them how are build, to be functional, and use them to support main battle tanks on war.
Design and build a brand new tank which is immune to your enemy tanks, or dont use tanks at all. Enemy will shot at least 10 ton explosive for every tank which you deploy.
With "aluminum toys" from past century do not start war, otherwise you for sure will be loser.

I love this shitty animations that provide no technical information what so ever. It amounts to, put the thing in there, replace this thing with better thing, and go do the stuff in the place with the other things... with very little exaggeration. If I started name dropping actual tank components, it wouldn't be any more informative. Then there are the ridiculous test scenarios these videos make. Let me break this down and roast this for 5 minutes.
So essentially, you got an old surplus M113, with an auto cannon turret on it. Some old Danish lend lease or something. You put some spaced armor on it, sure not really going to do that much for an M113. Replace the Tracks?!? I mean, I guess everybody has to replace their tracks eventually, not really an upgrade, more of regular maintenance. New tracks isn't the same as a new suspension system. Upgrade the "aiming system"... this is the dumbest part of all... What the fuck is the "Aiming system". Are we talking an AA cross hair? You mean the traverse and elevation controls on the turret? Optics? Targeting computer/ range finder? All of the above?
You wanna just slap an entire package of advanced targeting computers, optics and electric turret and gun controls without any details? And this is supposed to be economical AND effective in combat? How? LITERALLY HOW?!?
I love the pointless application of LSA. We have a commander's cupola, but fuck that old shit, why use your eyes when we have go-pros. What in gods name do these cameras give you that you couldn't see by just looking out the periscope? Wouldn't have trouble looking out the cupola if you hadn't bolted external sensors on the roof of the turret blocking the commander's view (and leaving your sensors open to enemy gunfire by putting them OUTSIDE the armored tank hull) Put them inside the turret's gun mantle and leave the top of the turret alone. The Blufor tracker is really the only useful addition here, and it amounts to a tough-book. wired to your optics. Done modernization complete. Fuck everything else. The spaced armor isn't going to make an M113 ATGM proof.
I don't understand how military people can't tell the difference between an IFV and an APC. If they were the same thing, we wouldn't have two different classifications for the bloody things!
You don't bring an armored box into CQB. Your going to get fucked in the ass, literally and metaphorically on multiple levels. And a backup camera letting you look into the eyes of the motherfucker about to panzerfaust your tank in the ass won't help!
The only hope you have to survive is to screen the area with infantry. If the infantry are outside the tank, then what fucking good is the tank for protecting infantry? Oh but that autocannon. Sure, I bet the UN is going to get alot of use out of a 30mm Auto-cannon in a densely populated urban area. Can you imagine a bunch of blue helmets crashing walls down like the coolaid man, liquefying civilians at 500 RPM. They'll use the thing once, as light mortar or assault gun role, to pop windows when they run into a sniper or something scary, then get reprimanded for it later.
    Totally worth the money.
