Obviously biased but that was very good - well the video not my run! 20:06 at 5K and then a 22:09. Oh dear! At least I gave it a good go - clearly too much first half. Small consolation that it wasn't a PW - I have ran slower once before LOL. Hope to see you out there yourself before long and we will have to do our decider at the Worthing parkrun given we are 1-1 at the moment.
Well done on the run big dog and kudos on that 2.30 marathon career pb
He's very competitive without taking it too seriously which is good to watch.
yeah when you run 10 mins slower than your PB (set when somewhat younger) and despite trying can't take yourself too seriously! Still smarting from Phil beating me though!
Yes, when we get to a certain age, it's not good to take things too seriously!
A superb showcase of Mr Grose. Gotta be one of my favourite CZcamsrs. He is a pure runner. If I can be half as good as him one day I will be more than happy. True legend. 😎🤘
Cheers Ben. He’s definitely a purist but still loves the sport.
Lovely film about a great runner 🙌
Thank you Mike. For someone whose main distance was not the marathon, 2:33 is a very nice PB to have in the bag! I guess we will all have to accept slowing down as we age.
@@FilmMyRunYeah funny as spoke to a few after who said I did a PB but was disappointed. I say never be sorry about a PB as you never know if you might do another one. That 2:33 was my last PB in a standard distance and that was 19 years ago now.
Great film Stephen, and well done to Tim! Great time! You guys are very inspirational
Thanks Rich. Been friends with Tim for a while now. Always a top gent.
@@FilmMyRun Hopefully I'll bump into you guys one day, probably as you whizz pass me
What a lovely film! Delightful! Fun and inspiring! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it Liam! Thanks for your kind words
Stephen - This is a very very fabulous piece about Tim - and captures the very essence of him incredibly well . Thank you ! - Both you and Tim truly are the very definition of understatement you are both such awesome athletes but not an inch of ego or nonsense within either of you , Big hug xxx
Thank you Sue. Shame you weren’t there on Sunday!
Great little film! You caught me at 5:53 ;-)
Nice. I wondered if that might be you!
A lovely video about a great man of running
It was a good format wasn't it. I think I learnt more about film making techniques than running here!
Thanks you guys. Mini documentaries are a favourite of mine. I should do more really.
@@FilmMyRun yes as many of said your channel has far fewer subscribers than it merits. This would probably give it a lift, quite apart from the intrinsic merit of them.
Stephen...I like this video. Nice audio, nice b-roll work, and letting Tim speak without being questioned is really compelling. I think you are on to something with this channel. Good work!
He gave me a few "hints" on the way but a runner talking about their own running is rarely lost for some words :) I did like the way he cut away to B roll as I was still talking in some parts. A technique I need to evolve a bit more in my own videos and a good way to "hide" any video that isn't great but the audio is OK. Plus it keeps the length down while still giving a better impression of the event.
Cheers Steve. I enjoy making these type of mini films. I should o more of them.
Thanks Steve. I do enjoy making these short documentaries. Should do more really.
Still a great run Tim and well done to Victoria and Elsa. I've not done that many 10k races. When I was "better" I could run it outside in an hour but these days not so much. Maybe I can make that one of my goals for this year.
I think 10k in 60 minutes is a great goal to aim for again. I'm convinced you could do that
Beautiful film Stephen! Good to see a number of familiar faces, especially "Jog On Jim" Laidlaw crossing the line during his successful PB attempt.
Thanks a Jonathan. Always a good crowd at Goodwood. It’s a popular course
I really enjoyed the video, great work to both sides of the lens
I very much enjoyed this and your running hx, thanks! Keep at it and best of health and wishes for you and your running mates!!
Thank you so much. Appreciate your kind words
great little film
Thank you. Appreciated.
Saw Tim running on one of the out and backs. Superb runner! A great course and superb pace makers. Really well worth doing. So many PBs and thanks to the wide track you can get past your chosen pace making pack and bolt for home.
Yes it's a good course. The only slight issue is the wind on the back straight sometimes. What events have you run there?
I didn't feel very superb on the last out and back. That was the only time I really felt a strong headwind. Was a good course I agree although I never quite understood why you go on the public roads for some of it. Guess they want to avoid problems with lapped runners and at least the long out and back had some tree cover whereas the race circuit obviously does not.
Well done. Running is a fantastic hobby that is so good for us. Thanks for your efforts.
Thank you Nelson.
I know that feeling not feeling great lately 😂
I'll take his 42 minutes any day.
You and me both Marc. I feel like I haven’t started since Christmas!
Thank you for the films.. I always find time to watch.. 😀
Thank you so much Chris. Appreciated.
Super film. Lovely background music and camera work accompanying the refreshingly honest interview with Sir Tim. Bravo.
Thanks Greg. I went for the chilled approach this time! Sir Tim! He'll like that.
I've got 10 years on you! My target was not to die, finish before they all went home (ideally under an hour which I did) and spoil any benefit after with a Double Sausage and Egg McMuffin
That’s the spirit!! Thanks Dennis, great work!
I managed to grab a quick selfie with the big man haha Was great to finally meet him, gutted I missed you though Stephen :-(
Got the clip so look out for it :)
@@TimGrose Oh god no, I didn't realise you were filming otherwise I would have brushed my hair haha
@@paulmulks well Stephen only messaged me enroute to suggest doing the film he did so not the only one taken by surprise as it were. At least I have sort of become better at add libbing to the camera without too many errs and umms but still had some :)
Very well produced video Stephen. Thank you for sharing. How is your recovery from illness going?
Thank you so much Donato. I'm am once again gradually improving after my third bout of illness this year so far! How are you lately?
@@FilmMyRun third bout?!? OMG! I'm super good, slowly getting into marathon training as you may of seen on my current videos and a cheeky sub 40 10K on Sunday
@@PoetWithPaceoh were you at Goodwood?
I’m a beginner 52 yr old male runner , very interested in the masters running , great video . May I ask where to find out more ?
Hi Stephen, thanks for commenting. You can find out more about running in British Masters races here bmaf.org.uk/
But also if you contact your local running club they can advise you about running in your local county Masters XC or road races
Just spotted me crossing the finish line just before Tim, bright orange shorts, ive been injured since 🙈
Top 300 went under 40 and top 20 went under 32....made me realise how slow my 36 minute is
Yes it was a fast race. Just a shame Jack missed the sub 30 by 17 seconds!
@@FilmMyRun he is an animal!!!!
@FilmMyRun it really isn't a respectable 10k time until its under 35 mins.
Funny us runners - however well or not we do we always think if only I was a bit quicker. I bet once you get to a sub 35 you then think sub 34 etc etc.
@@TimGrose haha yes that will be true as always aiming higher.....however I will still feel that 34 is fairly respectable
