Hey everyone,
I have finally added a new biome to the game. The Outback Canyons. Here rivers have carved deep ravines into the surrounding plateaus which are home to all kinds of weird & wonderful creatures. Watch out for those cheeky emus though ;)
Fun fact: This biome is based on a real place that I visited called Kings Canyon located in the Northern Territory, Australia. Very cool place.
Thank you all for your support :)

I don’t think i’ve ever clicked a link as fast as i just did with that wishlist one. I’m super excited to see how this turns out!
I already did it as soon as I saw the link on the first video that it was on. This game is soooo good it's just incredible! I love this game allready
You've given the emu knees where it should have ankles! Bird knees are held really high up, close against the body and hidden under all the feathers. You wouldn't need to change the rig at all, just the animations to have the legs bend the other way.
The eucalypts look really good.
It looks very amusing at least
Oh shit I only just noticed that 😂😂😂. I don't know how I missed that I used references and everything and have seen and been around emus many times irl. This is why it's good for other people to check your work 😂😂
@@Tooley1998 No wonder it gave you an headbutt there at the end
Looks really brilliant man! Hadn’t even thought of other biomes in this game until now! Endless possibilities! Looking forward to seeing more of this!
Thanks so much :)
@@Tooley1998I just found your channel and I immediately fell in love with this project! How do you tackle world generation? This is looking amazing!
Ahh, The Mythical Lands of Australia
only heard of from Legends.
beautiful.
Oh wait, read the description, it’s actually based off of a place in Australia…
Funny how modern art always tends to mimic old mythology. I’m sure the copyright holders won’t be happy about this guy copying their designs.
@GolenCheeseIt
You can’t copyright the geography of a location. Inspiration is not necessarily copying
Just needs giant spiders.
Oh wait-
@@luxill0s I think you missed the joke, mate.
You did a very good job with the realism of the terrain it actually looks very fun to explore
Thanks. I think its my best work yet
@@Tooley1998I think it is, the amnt of detail here is insanely good
@@Tooley1998 As an Aussie, I am very proud. My only tip for realism is grey boulders/rocks around water. Also the spiders are spot on lol
That looks so sick.
I wonder what other biomes could look like in this style... Maybe swamp, jungle or mangrove swamp.
Rivers have verticality, dope.
Real water physics too
Please add split screen co-op, I'd love to play this with my little cousin 😁
Love the little oasis that form between ridges!
Hahaha the ending, super excited to play your game ❤
looking forward for this game!
I cant believe how beautiful the style of this game is
Been following your game for a while now, can’t wait to see what biomes you add. This definitely has the potential to be better than Minecraft and any other voxel game
It's sooo gorgeous, just wishlisted!
This looks so amazing! I cant wait to check it out when I get the time. One thing I might suggest is doing overlaying heat map type layers to create more realistic biomes, like what is done in a game called Vintage Story, as opposed to the cookie cutter type biomes seen in Minecraft. On my way to Steam to wishlist.
in all my years being alive, I don't think I've ever seen a game with any more potential than this
thank you so much for creating this game Tooley, excited for the release!
im so hyped for that game , i've been watching the devlogs since the very beginning i think , just hope that have more enemys when release
Really good job, I immediately put the game on my wish list, can't wait to try it out.
I would be so happy to work on a project like this, so if you are looking for a graphic and object designer or need support with concept planning, I would be happy to hear from you.
That’s absolutely beautiful! Good job!
So excited
Really cool! The music as well! And I also noticed that the clouds and even the moon is voxelated, super cool!
fire biome i guess average Australia spiders, but coming from an earlier video, the crafting system could be where instead of getting a set cut of an item, you cut the item yourself (like the tree from the earlier video), and you need at least a certain cut. (For example, you cut the tree and need 20x10x10 voxels or something to craft it. For nerfing purposes, you can only carry so many voxels at a time in a slot.
This bar far the coolest looking Voxel landscape that I've ever seen. Well done !!
Wow, amazing job. Seriously impressed with how believable the terrain atmosphere is.
I'm sharing this game with lots of friends of mine, I'm excited to see in the future a game with voxels so tiny that we can't distinguish them from particles, creating the truly illusion of reality
I'll be super excited when the game is released, the project is really beautiful and it looks like a lot of fun!
Awesome work! Can't wait to see what's next!
The game looks incredible dude. Thanks for all the work so far!
I've been subscribed for a while now, but CZcams just decided to push one of your videos to me. First video I watched was two years ago! Keep up the good work, this is really looking great!
Top kek, im loving all all these voxel engine creators releasing their update videos close to each other.
Love it when people make terrain gen for their own local landscapes, it always gets way cooler results than generic fantasy hills.
I like how voxel trees look idk why
This game will be the best voxel based game i'll ever see and play !
Absolutely stunning, fantastic work! BTW now that your game's listed on Steam, it should show up in the dropdown list of games on CZcams under the Details/Category section, so you can set that and it won't autofill it with Minecraft. Anyway, really cool progress. Really cool emu!
Whoah, amazing work once again!
Please consider adding dropbears...
add a small deltaplane, so you can enjoy the absolut Banger generation.
All the rivers and clifs are not just flat. That' great.
Absolutely beautiful terrain generation
Gorgeous :) You're gonna kill it with that game.
I'm curious, at a high level, how grass animation works in an engine of that type. They're not separate entities, right?
ps: that ending 😆
In all seriousness, that's sincerely pretty. I, as an explorer type, am hype for a game with good biomes!
Absolutely amazing work!
Bro every time you release a new video I get the warm feeling of discovery like early Minecraft and areas in Pokemon
This looks so incredible! Good work!
The animals are pretty impressive, it really look like a really realistic game with a voxel filter. It's hard to describe
So jealous (in a good way)! Looks so great.
Such unique landscapes at high detail. Using compression of some sort? For mine Im using 3d tilemaps
Can't believe I missed this one,ove the water particles
The new biome looks sick as all hell, pretty hyped for this.
Oh shit bro... this looks so compelling. Keep it up
Excellent progress it looks great!
Coooll
This looks stunning, phenomenal.
Life in the game continues to evolve
I am jealous of your technical skills.
Very beautiful! Great job 👏👏
I remember one year ago people saying this project will die and will never be rełeased 💀
Thats awesome dude! Love the emu boop at the end
Finally i'll play a finished Cube World. Thank you so much
Looks so cool, I want to just explore in this game, especially if biome placements make sense, so dry then gradually to wet ones, same for temperature and elevation
Looks amazing as always
this game is so beautiful! ive been so taken by its design that im just watching all the videos just to look at it. the textures and lighting and modelling are just so gorgeous!
im hyped for this game even though there is a 0% chance i could ever run it :>
You'd be surprised. I get 60fps at 1080p on my GTX 1070 :)
@@Tooley1998 yeah 0%
this stuff looks gorgeous man if you havent already you should add some little ambient animals like fish and birds to make the experience more alive
This is an insanely underrated game, at this point it doesn't even matter how the gameplay is the looks alone are enough for this to be an unmatched tool for art or roleplay style stuff. Can't wait for the release!
Beautiful as always
I think it looks phenomenal. Well done. But I do feel like there is room for improvement. Mainly in the atmosphere of the biome. I feel like you need to create a feeling in the player that its unbearably hot and dry(maybe heat shimmer effects or sort of a dusty atmosphere). I dont really know how to explain it, but so far it looks amazing.
I agree.
it looks incredible! if you wanted to add a new enemy, i think a zombie kangaroo would be funny and thematic
Nice!
With a Canyons biome we need HORSES YEEEHAAAAW
At first it seemed to me that this was 2D (in 3D) with large pixels, but the voxels here are also cool looks
Simply amazing.
Bro really just pecked you😂
Amazing work once again
This looks cool af, can't wait for it to come out
This is so awesome as usual. I'd be interested in knowing how you generate the clouds and sky? They look really good a suit the rest of the style.
This looks amazing. I'm not sure if this is something you're interested in but I feel like this game could be really cool in VR if you added support for that
Bloody amazing!
1:18 Weird that you scaled the spiders down compared to actual Australian spiders...
Amazing work so far though!
Released on the same day voxray demo is out, what a day for voxel games
I'm actually more excited about the release of this game than other games from big studios
Out of the 142 games I have on my wishlish, this one is now on #2
Impressive ! You should try to make a karstic / Mediterranean inspired moutains , you would make it look awesome ❤
This looks incredible, though I still hold that a user customized spells like in Noita or some old minecraft mods would go incredibly hard with this games general vibe
Why doese the game look so good, i wish i would be as talented as you
So cool! Can’t wait to play it
I can’t wait for the release of this game
Seriously the coolest looking thing ever.
Wishlisted! WANT! VERY WANT!
Beautiful voxel world.
I love it. Great work.
The map is starting to seem like it would take a long time to travel. I wonder what kind of transport you might add.
Biome looks comfortable btw.
Even if there wasnt a game to go with it this is wonderful
The biome looks amazing. Please tell me there are going to be some comfy game mechanics like making a campfire, rounding up some animals or making pets? Because the game is looking like prime comfy material with the amazing shaders and landscapes!
Biome update, nice.
If the end isn't completely scripted then that's awesome lol, I love AI that has some liveliness compared to what most games do :p
Lively oceans is this game would be so fucking cool
This is so AWESOME 💯 I LOVE it ❤❤❤
omg this actually looks like a good game
I love how this is just Minecraft + Teardown with a touch of medieval fantasy.
this is going to be HUGE
i love this project
That looks very pretty.
I have noticed something while watching this video. The animals blend in with the landscape. Generally speaking that is a good thing. After all animals don't want to be seen. But I speak of a different type of blending in. I speak of texture. Usually the texture of dirt, plants and animals is quite different. So on close up they are very easily distinguisheable. That's why the animals have pattern to break up the form to blend more in on the makro level. But in your case the texture of dirt, plants and animals is all the same. It's all voxels that only differ in distance, color and shading. And that leads to a type of blend in that is not normal in nature.
I just wanted to point it out. I think if you find a way to improve that it would improve the liveliness of this world.
absolutly beautiful
