Finally, somebody who does it up close and slowly for people like me who are just learning to crochet. I looked at several other videos, but when they do the double crochet so fast, I can’t keep up with it or follow. Excellent video and your voice was very soothing, thank you From central PA
Love this thank you, I was just searching for a border to add to my little girls sweater to make it look a little less plain. I shall be giving this a go tonight 🥰
I love how you suggest/teach different options to make the shell edge stitch. It's really help people to find the best look for their project. Thank you! 😍
Do you also knit? Just an observation that people who knit move the yarn, move their hand to wrap the yarn around the needle, instead of keeping the yarn stationary and moving the needle to grab the yarn like a person who crochets but doesn't knit.
I started knitting before crocheting, so maybe I kept the habbit when I fell in love with crochet. It’s over 20 years ago I knitted, but some habits are here to stay. 😊😍
Actually I have always wondered why different people do that differently! However, I only knit, and I have never moved my hand and yarn to knit - it’s completely possible to just pick up the yarn with the knitting needle, not only with a hook. I have also always thought that this way it’s faster (although I’m still not that fast)
I actually move my hand to wrap the yarn instead of using the hook because I have tendonitis and so distributing some of the movement the right hand does to my left hand and minimizing right hand effort is a big deal for me.
@@HannahKayW I'm just learning to knit but I'm doing it the continental way so the yarn is fed through my left hand and I yarn over with just the needle. This is the only way I can knit. Tried forever doing the right hand yarn thing and completely impossible for me😅
@@ogg5949 It's been a long time since I've knit so I can't recall what I do there. I was talking about crochet since I think that's what the conversation was about here (could be wrong lol)
@@DivingDucksCrochet is the corners the same thing where you crochet a shell in the corner space but then you chain 1(or however many you need) then crochet a second shell in the same space?
Beautiful tutorial. I crocheted a basket for coasters and was looking for a pretty shell stitch to go around the top. Ty so much and I subscribed to your channel. Keep up the amazing work
And how do you finish once you made it all the way around? Do you insert the hook of the last (landing) stitch in the first one or just one before that?
I was feeling the same way, watch how she starts in the link below, I think it shows the first step not included in this video. Hope this helps! czcams.com/video/LhcAG12A-qo/video.html
I would like to know where you should start, & how to do the corners. This would be for a small project, a dishcloth. Thank you for your video.

Very nice video i understand properly thanks
You are most welcome 😊

does it matter where you start on your project. im finishing a baby blanket need a nice border like this
Hi Miriam.
No, it does´nt matter where You start 😊
What is the best way to make a border along the side pieces (not the leading edges of the work where the stitches are obvious)?
Really helpful
Excelente tutorial👏👏👏
Muito obrigado e fico feliz que tenha gostado.

How do you decide when to do yarn-over or yarn-under? I see you mix both. Thanks!
merci :)
😊
And how do you finish once you made it all the way around? Do you insert the hook of the last (landing) stitch in the first one or just one before that?
you slip stitch into the first one :)
How do you turn the corner? Do you need to count your stitches before making the border?
I just try as I go. Sometimes it looks better with more stitches in the corners, but sometimes it looks wonky. So no. I dont count 😊
What stitch is in
the blue
Its just single crochet in rounds 😊
Do you have a video of the bleu?
Is there a part 1? I feel like this didn’t start from beginning. Or maybe it’s too advanced for me 🤷🏻♀️
Hi there...no, this is the video. It´s to apply on different projects like eg a blanket. /Vibeke
