If you're playing point device and decide to use a bomb, you're basically fucking yourself. Bombs take 5 pieces as opposed to 3 for Extends which means you need to do 33% more chapters to get a piece.
Also, no, it is actually notably harder to raise your gaze count up to 200-400 on normal than on lunatic (strangely enough hard mode is harder than lunatic when you're talking about getting resources)

I just want to take a second to appreciate this whole thing and Ringo's Hungry Gauge in her "Mogu Mogu Doping" spell (her last one). I just thought that was neat, especially with how her strength increases as she eats (I love her power). Imagine if she went to an All You Can Eat Dango Buffet before fighting.
Well, that and we actually get to see Seiran's power of pulling bullets from different dimensions, plus Hecatia's three bodies all at once. Shame we can't actually play this though.

Wow. I can't stand Touhou 15, but I still like these cards a lot! The earlier bosses especially have much more fitting cards, but the later bosses still are pretty dull... I like the Touhou 14 rush much more, but that's also because the characters are more fun. Still, for what he had to work with, yuke did fantastically.

今回の事件の発端の原因の原因である意味、黒幕。
月のﾚｲｾﾝが遣えていた主人である。
あくまで地上に堕ちた鈴仙とは無関係..だと思われる.. 、純狐と夫を共にしていたが、その件の夫を騙して星を幾つか壊させ、自らの子を殺させ、最後に月の霊薬(不死の薬)を己が女神に返り咲きたいが為にさんざん利用した夫を出し抜き飲んだ..が月で待っていたのは虜囚の身であり月からの罰であった..
地獄も被害を被り(恒星の明かりが幾つか無くなったせいで地獄の闇が薄まった、これは地獄の女神としては大問題)純狐とヘカーティアは利害を共にしていた、共に穰蛾を打ち倒さんとやってきたが、月の住民は穢れ(生死という概念)を嫌うので、まともに打ち合わず謎かけととんちで時間を稼ぎつつ夢の世界に月の都を建設、現実の月の都を凍結させて、地球に月の都を移設しようと言う目的と地上に住む連中(人間)を月に呼び寄せて純狐をどうにかして退散させてもう目的の二つを計画した..
それに協力したのが

This Junko is definitely better than ZUN's own. However, I feel a little disapointed that yuke decided to keep the dull style of Junko's cards. However, ''Multiplied Impulses'' (12:22) was actually beautiful.
Then what kinda danmaku patterns would _you_ have used to express the nature of Junko, a character who has purified herself down to the most basic of components?
Me, I noticed that yuke actually made Junko even duller by only giving her simple, round bullets (only variety is colours and sizes) and making her patterns _even less_ complex than ZUN's. I mean, ZUN at least provided a little variation to her patterns, but yuke's patterns are bullet circles (a bit more creative ones than ZUN's), walls of bullets and also a literal case of just filling the whole screen with bullets... That said, I actually like the changes yuke did to Junko's danmaku to make the bullets and patterns even simpler.
+GrahamChapman Enough with this ''pure'' bullshit. Even if ZUN decided to use ''pure theme'' as an excuse for the worst danmaku ever in Touhou, I won't swallow it. Even if it was intentional (though it's more because of ZUN's time limit), why do original Sagume and Clownpiece have below average danmaku? Their stages also have some dull patterns, which tells us something. Junko was not the only one with bad danmaku - though in this video all three have improved, thanks to yuke.
(Edit: Let's not forget about Hecatia battle, which was god awful in 15. Again, improved here)
About the ''purity'', again, it's a bad excuse that people use. Look, abilities don't always matter in which way patterns are made. For example, Yuyuko's ability is to literally cause death, so shouldn't her danmaku be just mindless spam and not beautiful butterflies? How about Kaguya? Her eternal manipulation doesn't mean she makes timer longer than usual (only time this is shown is in Eirin's last word). ZUN himself said that Junko's ability can be interpreted as ''returning beings to their original godly nature'' or something, which in my opinion sounds beautiful. If he had time, original Junko would be much, much different, I tell you that. But now enough with this. I won't bother talking about this anymore.

I actually thought yuke's version of Clownpiece's patters were worse than ZUN's, and his Hecatia was only so-so, (best part was the last Spell Card, but the one that gave the opponent three bodies was straight out "no, just... no" to me... So yeah, subjectivity... Ringo's, Sagume's and Junko's patterns though? Clear improvement from ZUN's patterns.
First of all, the danmaku is not just about expressing the character's abilities, they are also about their story (like Kaguya's "Impossible Request" patterns), stories that relate to their themes (like Parsee's "Tongue Cut Sparrow", which alludes to a story about how the purity of friendship overcomes the evils of greed and jealousy) and their personality (of which there are far too many examples to list). Junko's powers, lore and personality, though? One dimensional. I can sum her power, story and personality up in one word each: Purification, Revenge, Resentment. That's literally all she is. Whoever she was before she became Junko is something she got rid off when she purified herself.
About Yuyuko's patterns? The butterfly is a _very_ well known death motif: When we're alive we're like caterpillars that crawl about our world. Then we die and our bodies become cold, stiff husks, much like cocoons. But what about what's inside the cocoon? Death allows our soul to leave our bodies behind, like a beautiful butterfly that flies off, leaving only its empty chrysalis behind... Seriously, you didn't know this stuff?
As for Kaguya, her eternity manipulation _did_ manifest, during Eirin's Last Word by extending the seconds and during "Imperishable Night's End" by demonstrating that not even the endless night that the playable characters had created was outside the influence if her power: She demonstrated her power over eternity and the instantaneous by ending an eternal night in an instant.
Yes, and did you read what he said about the process that returned the beings to their original, godly nature? She does it by essentially erasing the being's "true name"... Ergo, her power changes things from: "Suwako is a god" or "Marisa is a human" or "Resentment is an emotion" to "It is what it is"...
I wonder how Junko is going to get along with Nue? 'Cuz their powers are a bit alike. Making things undefined... Only, Nue merely obscures the definitions (you cannot identify what's under her power) while Junko removes the definitions altogether (what's under her power has no definition).
Simple danmaku is still beautiful tho.
