    Got my 24' Road Glide on Feb 9th. I had heard about this problem and asked them if the bike had the update for this issue. They told me the bike had been fully updated. My bike has had this issue twice now since I purchased it. I will be taking it in later today.

If it does do you get the starting issue fixed and let go of the feeling of loss or continue to avoid any updates for 21 mph. It's all messy and disappointing!

    Just had my bike in for the ECM update as well as the brake line clip recall. They also did a BCM update and, so far, I've put just under 300 miles on the bike and no issues to report. I’m home from the update which was very fast and accommodating.
      Just a quick story , when I bought the 2024 Street Glide , I purchased the $ 350 navigation and the dealer had a hard time installing it. They charged ma $ 450.00 and I was a bit perplexed as they did not say anything about extra price for labor . They called me a day later with a $ 50.00 gift card as they discussed the hidden charges etc…
      I thought it was a nice gesture as they came to the realization that because it is relatively new and should not have taken so long to install , the team came to a conclusion to charge future customers the $ 50.00 install.
      I will keep you posted if I have start issues and you have a great channel .

      Yes BUT caution there are thoughts this update will limit top speed to 99mph. We know this is already true for the Street Glide, any recent ECM update has the limiter but there is thought now this is also in place for the Road Glides. Matt Laidlaw made a comment that all of the '24's except the ST have this 99 mph limit. My understanding it is Street Glides until the wobble fix comes available later this month.

    I took my bike in for this update. Now I have issue with the (tpms) icon flashing irregularly, solid when moving, off when at a stop light. And as of all things a solid fault alert ( the tringle with the ! sign lit.) Harley of Coronado Beach in San Diego, has attempted to repair (fix) to no avail. Bike is too new, problems have no fix as of yet. Just like the start issue, the recommended fix, pull main fuse, wait 15 min. reinstall fuse. See what happens.. more will be reveled in time. All under warranty is the silver lining, but I'd like to take other trips to other places in retirement, other than the Harley dealerships. Same old scenery gets old...LOL.

    Was at dealer service desk getting the update done for the radio, a customer came in said his new bike in parking lot cranks but won't start. As he went by I told him there was a software update fix for that issue. Service manager came back in after bike started, said the customer immediately cranked it over without letting it boot up. Said that was the issue. My guess is that the customer will be back.

    • @ITFZone
      @ITFZone  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes for sure, from my own experience waiting for the bike to boot has no effect on the start issue, it may help with connecting your phone. Personally I let the pump prime and hit the button, you want as much voltage from the battery as possible with these new bikes and if you wait for the screen to boot you have lost some power already!

  • @toddfetterly5457
    @toddfetterly5457 Před 7 měsíci +4

    According to the dealer, this update is going to limit the speed of the bike to 100 MPH. I advise them to not complete the update for this reason. I understand the street glide has some issues with speed wobble, but not the road glide. Also, the new CVO road glide ST has a race mode with a 120 MPH limit?

    • @ITFZone
      @ITFZone  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes I have known about the Street Glide recall that limits the bike to 99mph, however we are expecting a fix for the wobble and the limiter to be removed. Not sure here, if they have now opted to limit both models and plan to leave it that way that is really going to bite them! A mess for sure!

    • @ITFZone
      @ITFZone  Před 6 měsíci

      I was hoping we would not see this feedback! Many of us suspect it is a low voltage condition and the stock battery is not strong enough for these new bikes. Its also so unfortunate that we cannot verify our own ECM version. One cannot have any confidence that our dealer had the latest update!

    @EdwardNagel Před 6 měsíci +1

    Update to my update: the service department of Patriot HD in Fairfax, VA ( selling dealer ), just called and said that they could NOT recreate the "crank, no start" issue that I experienced after the update was done, so nothing was done this time around. I know for sure that the latest ECM update has changed the map. I have some nice crackles and pops at decel and the start process seems more robust for a lack of a better description. BUT I have heard from a couple that they had the update and still have the issue. Most of us believe that this a low voltage issue.

    • @ITFZone
      @ITFZone  Před 7 měsíci

      For the '23's there is no SkyLine OS updates from the original release of the bikes. We have the AMP update, 1.3.3.0 which is a big improvement in sound quality. You are likely going to have a BCM update in addition to the ECM update but unfortunately only the HD technician can see this info. Harley is not making any detailed information available for the ECM/BCM updates. Word of caution, there is a rumor that the 99 MPH speed limiter may be in this update for both Road Glide and Street Glides. Street Glide owners starting seeing this limiter in place after the wobble recall was announced. The hope is this was temporary. Road Glide owners have not reported this thus far but there is concern it could be in this ECM update. I need the snow to stop so I can get it applied and answer this question!!

    I have a 2024 Street bob. It's having electrical issues. The bike doesn't even have five hundred miles on it. It's going back to the dealership for a second time for the same issue. It sits on a battery tender when not in use, but then I go and take it out for a ride about forty miles, and the bike just dies on me....... And then it won't restart as if the battery is drained. This is a brand new bike, supposedly a brand new battery as well. What gives????

    • @ITFZone
      @ITFZone  Před 14 dny

      Great question, should be easy to figure out. If the battery is indeed new and testing ok I would want to know what exactly are you seeing. Is it trying to turn over or just clicking. How do you get it running again? The voltage regulator would be at the top of the list as a possible cause.

    • @leudwigvonshwartsenhelm3624
      @leudwigvonshwartsenhelm3624 Před 14 dny +1

      @ITFZone I put it on the battery, tender, and after a day of charging, it will start up. If I don't put it on the battery tender, it clicks a bunch. The technician at h d told me the battery was good. I personally think they were lying to me. It's also possible that the charging system is faulty. And that the bike is running off of the battery when it's on and then after thirty or so miles It finally dies on me because i've used up all the power in the battery.

      No current service bulletin on this one. I am not sure why the tuner would not be able to load the new tables from the update. The concern would be if the update wipes the tuner's modifications the bike could be lean. For sure the confusion continues with these new bikes and frankly its a complete mess of information and software issues. Your dealer would be able to get the most information by opening a case on it but you could also call customer care on this one, 800-258-2464.

    I just got a 2024 and my bike only has like 100 miles and it won’t even turn on not even the screen What do you think and I put it on a tender and it is green

      If the screen will not power on you will want to pull the main fuse to reset the bike. I would also verify the battery connections. Both of these topics I cover in this video: czcams.com/video/UQyoRZ5AUv0/video.html

      Will see, I think there are enough of them out there with enough miles ridden without any major motor issues. If we can get the infotainment more reliable we may be set.

    Any truth to the speed limit of 100 mph with this update?

      I don’t know. See my response to Todd, I sure hope not but if true we need to be very loud about it!

    haiii where i can find ecm update

    • @ITFZone
      @ITFZone  Před měsícem

      Unfortunately only a Harley Dealer can install ECM and BCM updates. Owners can install the infotainment updates but not the other computers in the bike.

      @@athenagold20 Even with a SIP subscription you cannot download or install ECM / BCM updates. Only a dealer with a digital tech tool can do this. I would love to see an aftermarket digital tech but since Harley controls the software I doubt we will ever be able to apply our own ECM / BCM updates at least from Harley.

      Hard to believe they couldn't discover this before they released the bikes especially since this issue existed with the PanAm's!
