Trade deals in order to not depend upon a single trade partner should the tariff nonsense resume. If you look at the Federal govt's responsibilities: "Oversees things that affect the entire country, such as the postal service, national defense, the Supreme Court, passports, federal income tax, and employment insurance." Housing isn't on the list. Private entrepreneurs build houses according to market demand. There is no central housing authority like there was in the USSR.

Canada's shrinking role on the international stage can be attributed to factors like a focus on domestic issues, reduced military spending, changing global dynamics, and a shift in foreign policy priorities. Additionally, evolving trade relationships and geopolitical shifts may contribute to Canada's perceived diminishing influence.
And let’s talk about the role the PM has had on Canada’s diminishing role on the international stage. Aside from his bad collection of socks and painful rhetoric, while Justin Trudeau's has emphasized multilateralism and global cooperation, his policies, such as a focus on domestic issues and environmental concerns, have contributed to a reduced emphasis on traditional foreign policy and global influence. His government's approach to international affairs has sparked debates about Canada's role on the world stage during his tenure.
It’s time for a change Canada! Let’s all make sure we vote in 2025!! 🗳️

The country is a failed nation. A full audit on the failure is urgently needed. The manufacturing of many materials items and things are needed inside this country, from start to finish, utilizing resources with everything for sale. Our missed failed opportunities. The taxing of Canadian people to keep their lives alive in January is horrible. To be recognized on a world stage is kind of a joke. The north arctic needs attention. The military should be looked at . Addressing food is important. I’m not sure why we have people growing weed everywhere, for Canadian people, using resources to pollute people in the mind, but no program for a Canadian made solution to growing lettuce or fresh fruit in January from Canada. It feels like we live inside a prison inside Canada, and everything that could help the people inside Canada is thrown away outside of Canada. And with no vision of future rebuilding or development of any programs for years. It’s on the verge of implosion with debt for decades and feels like a little rump Canada.

Canada has a population of 40 million people, verses nations with upwards of 1 Billion.
Canada has always been a domestic focused, peaceful nation.
Which, is why we are so valued as an immigration destination.
Does Canada, or Canadians want to be a global player in military conflicts in the Indo Pacific region - or - do we want better health care & housing affordability ?
Canadian Government policy has always reflected the demands of Canadians which are domestic based policies.
Offence Based Military policies have never been our priority, because it has never been necessary; Can anyone name a nation or organization which we are at / were at war with ?
Does Canada want to be , or need to be a global military power ?
Or do we want a a professional well trained military which can contribute to International Missions when deemed necessary?
Do we want a Aircraft Carrier so we can go and bomb someone half way around the planet, or better dental care for our Kids?
Be honest, Canadians have a long standing policy of NOT getting involved in military conflicts, which is why we are so respected internationally, and, why we are so shocked and offended at the notion that another foreign Government may be targeting and murdering our Citizens.

Henry Perrin Beatty... Former Progressive Conservative party MP that has clearly used his influence to become a registered government lobbyist. I normally resent those types of people. (Former politicians that use their connections to become lobbyists.)
It's also worth noting that according to the Canadian Encyclopedia. When Beatty was defeated in the 1993 federal election. He returned to private life as director of 2 telecommunications companies and wrote a column for the Toronto Sun, and in 1995 Beatty became president and CEO of the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., which he left in 1999. Did they mention that this former politician turned government lobbyist used to be the President and CEO of CBC?

Mr. Beatty, are you representing the UK, Australia, the EU, or Canada? The Government of Canada's job is to follow national policy, and Foreign Policy is part of it to safeguard long-term Canadian interests at home and abroad. The business community you represent is responsible for improving processes, production and viability in the international markets instead of criticizing the Federal Government for doing more or less.
Post-pandemic, the government of Canada did its best to keep hopes alive for Canadian citizens. Now, Canadian businesses are responsible for creating a favourable work environment to trigger innovation, competitiveness and ease of production in service or manufacturing sectors. The amount of subsidies the Government of Canada has provided to manufacturers, service providers and agriculture producers in the past five years is second to none among the G20 countries. Speaking for the truth and upholding the balance in international politics have repercussions in today's polarized world. However, that does not mean putting trade or economy over principal stands on regional and international issues that may have unwanted outcomes.

It's also worth noting that the person they interviewed Beatty... Is a former Progressive Conservative MP that become the director of 2 telecommunications companies upon leaving politics. He was the president of the CBC from '95-'99 (funny that they would have left that part out.) and now he has apparently leveraged those connections in the press and politics to become a political lobbyist.

I disagree, we have the infostructure we do have laws, we do have sovernty which Canada used to boast and be proud of. Canada has provided arms and training to Ukraine, Canada is not a Bully nation and does not need or require to resort to bully tactics unless forced too. . Diplomacy and giving plenty of aid to countries that desperately need it is what Canada has done, South Africa can take countries to court and spend the money, Canada has been a supporting role in NATO, NORAD, The UN. Canadians are not the United States.
