I'm glad someone said it! Shooting in a priority mode does not make you a bad photographer, the setting is there for a reason
Iâll forever take advantage of it! Why make life complicated
I agree with everything you've said. Good knowledge. Always helps to hear it from a professional. Thanks.
Thank you so much Mel! I have a part 2 of this video coming out soon, would love to hear your thoughts again x
Great video. Thanks. I agree with you on all those tips. However a few portraits shot on the Sony 50mm f1.2 would be a nice addition to the 24-70 f2.8.
Thank you! :) i have a sigma 50mm f1.4- although Iâd say, based on preference and style, i wouldnât go any lower than f1.4 and, to be honest, I rarely use f1.4, because i shoot in really beautiful places, so why to blur it out?
Great video!!!
Thanks for watching đ i have part 2 coming out this week :)
Totally agree what you said in this video, especially the last rule!
When I shoot with Mirrorless, I'm happy and I know I can rely on it.
100% - especially if you're making money out it, having good and reliable gear is an absolute must hey?!
Thanks, I use Manual with auto ISO to control A and S. Iâll try Av mode, I didnât know that there is minimum shutterspeed setting.
Have a try and let me know how it goes! I still use S mode when I want to do slow shutter, etc. And manual mode when using flash, etc.
But av mode is life changing. I don't really have to worry about the settings and it's just awesome!
Gear does not matter, it just makes it easier. Knowing how to get the results that will make you happy is what matters. If that's shooting on an iPhone in auto mode, so be it. I know plenty of people who have their own wedding shot on everyone else's iPhone, and then everyone shares their photos and videos in one central place, and its a more personalized experience for the couple when they look back. People forget, your not selling photography, you're selling memories.
Thanks for sharing your point of view- I definitely know what you mean.
I still think that gear matters when youâre charging +3k to document someoneâs most special day- not only because of the massive difference on image quality and autofocus, but also the security of having reliable equipment đ¤
Finally, someone who said use av mode đ
I'll never stop using av mode hahah so handy!
For wildlife photography I use S (or TV on canon) because the animals move quickly
Iso is the least of your concerns of it means your image isn't sharp
@@mjcarneiroim thinking of starting a portrait/event business but have a small budget to begin and Iâm looking at the Sony A6000 series of camera bodies. Would you recommend those or a used full frame DSLR ?
@@zwiemon I'm not familiar with wildlife photography, can't tell what makes a good photo đ but for live event that can be either outdoor or indoor, totally out of our control, with people moving around so much, av mode is definitely the easier I've tried
@@scottwesterman221 Umm I'm not familiar with the a6000, I've only had the a6600 (no dual card slots) and the a6700. I can tell that the a6700 is much better in quality and also with the advantage of having dual card slots which I 10000% recommend having if you're going to be using it professionally.
The price difference isn't much, and I totally think it's worth the invest, because at the end of the day you'll be getting the money back soon.
I do recommend the A7iv more than the other, as it's a good photo and video camera, reliable and a lot more professional - it's more expensive, but again, if you're serious about growing your business, you need to be thinking long term. (you can write it off tax too hehe)
ps. I've sold both the a6600 and a6700 because it wasn't nearly as good as the a7iv
I hope that helps you make a decision. Have a look at my partner's yt channel, he's talked about all these cameras and tested them out (Gerard Needham)
Do you use 2 camera bodies for weddings?
I do!! two a7iv's - at least until the end of portraits.
I usually just use one camera body during reception though.
I actually talked about that in one of my videos, and explained what cameras and lenses I use for each part of a wedding day.
"My Top 3 Lenses for Wedding Photography (Prime and Zoom)"
Let me know if you like it :))
The only genre of photography I've seen actively changing the iso is landscape and astro
For most other types of shooting auto iso with some exposure compensation is perfect.
it's perfectiiiion! why not to take advantage of it right
Do you mean a mirrorless instead of a DSLR?
Itâs a genuine question, how is a mirrorless improves the focusing experience over a DSLR?
I liked the video, interesting topics đ
Hii! Mirrorless cameras have good eye and face tracking. When you use continuous autofocus mode, it's hard to miss focus, even with movement. While some DSLRs do have eye and face tracking autofocus, it's not as advanced or reliable as in mirrorless cameras. And if you're using single-point autofocus with a DSLR and either you or the subject moves, it can easily go out of focus. So definitely not as reliable!
@@mjcarneiro thanks for the reply! I guess I have not used my mirrorless camera enough đ Iâm used to film so I donât have the same luxuries đ
Very good tips ,and soo cute voice ,I am your new suber
my voice isn't cute, but I appreciate it hahaha thanks :)
Oh girl you made me happy with this list, AV mode should be the only mode everyone should use!
