I'm about half way through another run of Blood Omen. I _absolutely_ still play those games.
Re-playing SR1 since my childhood. I'll play SR2 afterward. Defiance after those two. This game is a gem, more than a game, is art.
last year i played through sr2 again
I got to see my boy play through it and he was just as blown away as I was when I played it as a boy.
Me too I remember buying BO1 when it released at Kmart I didn't even know what it was about but the case intrigued me so I bought it & then played it for weeks. That's how I became a LoK fan.
Legacy of Kain is the reason why I am writing an entire Dark Fantasy novel series. I've been a fan for over 20 years. I still play the games every couple years or so. I am deeply saddened that Legacy of Kain never continued. Raziel and Kain are some of my favorite characters of all time.
That's beautiful. I never gave a shit about the English language as a work of art until the legacy of Kain. Such beautiful writing, incredible performances, the music, it was all just perfect. How lucky were we to have stumbled upon this as children. Is your Dark Fantasy Series just for you? Hey! Perhaps you'd be willing to put up a video reading off some of it?!
There is some possible good news on the LOK series, crystal dynamics has repurchased this title. I hopefully they did it with the intention of doing something with it, vs purchasing it like a political website so people have to pay massive amounts of money for the name
@@SubfightrCurrent circumstances being what they are, I just hope the LoK IP finds a proper studio some day that can do it justice. The gaming bubble's been popped, and now we're watching it hemorrhage...the only thing I could reasonably hope for anymore is seeing the IP finding a new home.
Simon Templeman's Kain will always be the best vampire in fiction. And after hearing Michael Bell's parts of the interview, he's based af.
Kain will always be my favorite vampire; Simon's voice, combined with the writing, will never be beat! 🖤
I have never known I needed something so bad until after I have received it. Great to see them back together.
It's surreal!
Michael Bell is hilarious. These two guys were so ahead of their time in terms of performance and talent. If they had been around at this generation after making those games in the 90s, MB an ST would've been all over every AAA game on the market. These guys (along with the MGS actors) set the standard that Troy Baker, Nolan North currently adhere to.
Legends in the industry

No bullshit, the characters of Kain and Raziel helped me pull through the darkest days in my youth. My sisters and I went through some messed up stuff, and I latched onto Legacy of Kain for escapism when I was ready to give up. The theme of these monstrous antiheroes overcoming impossible odds gave me my own bittersweet taste of hope; though I'm still not quite where I want to be in life, LoK gave me some fuel to keep pushing on, throughout the years.

How on earth am I just finding this now!? I would go crazy if I could see you guys at a convention! And Michael’s Voice is one of the quintessential voices of my childhood, not just Raziel’s voice but so so so many others. And Simon no one can forget him. He’s Awesome!
Ah, Simon, please come to a convention in Canada. I got to meet Michael at TF Con a few years ago and it was such a treat

Awesome interview! I could listen to them both for hours! And I won't lie and say I'm not tempted to see if I can meet Michael at that Augusta con. It would be about a 2 hour drive for me though.
Love, love both of these guys. I have all of my legacy of kain games. Never wanted to part with them. I replayed them all so much. Grew up like you guys with Michael Bell voicing characters. I remember Simon voicing Dr. Doom as well. But he is Kain. We need a boxed set with these games remastered for the PS5. Nice to hear these two. Love you guys and thank you for doing this podcast! Appreciate the time you guys doing the interview and being big fans as well.

Kain and the definitive version of Dr Victor Von Doom, are perhaps my favorite voices of Simon.
Eventhough the quality of The Real Adventures Of Johnny Quest was very debatable, Ezekiel Rage was a brilliant foe, and Michael did a phenominal job!

I always wondered if it was true that Simon dated Carrie Fisher at drama school. It was referenced in a Guardian article some years ago.

LoK is the closest we will ever get to modern Shakesphere. Why these games haven't been made into theater productions is beyond me, or a musical (I'm not into musicals, but do a LoK one and even I will bite).
We deserve at least a musical hahah.

Well, now that we have some hope from CD for a new LoK game...hopefuly these two are on board and we get something epic. Not only a return to LoK, but a return to glory, a time where DLC and microtransactions and gacha didn't exist.
I'm on some serious hopium, and I'm high AF.
