    A wonderful instrument wonderfully played . A sound from a bygone era , but if you heard it in your childhood it comes back like a long lost friend ! Thankyou Neal .

      If you're into revival hymns, I would use it only in liturgical settings. Revival hymns smack of synergism and Pietism.

    My dad has this exact model. It needs to be voiced to the room, and he had his done on installation and had the voicing reworked a couple of times. Worth doing because when it's down it is a great sounding instrument.

    Well done on this unit-orchestra demo! The MIDI Division II on this George Wright Model hints at how a Vista Navigator above the top manual would handle as part of an all-drawknob 76" Classical design I that have in preliminary configuration (as of March 2013).

    Nice Organ... I have a classic 1968 Baldwin HR series theatre organ.... she has 2 manuals..32 concave pedals and a slide out percussion option for pedals.... its like new ....was very pricey back in 68 for a large home organ

    @samueladams7 If you mean the song starting at 1:22, that is 16' Vox, 16' strings, 5 1/3' Tibia, and 1'Tibia. Strange combination, but very useful.

    Fabulous!!! I like the churchy sound but I need the classic console to go with it. I play an Allen every Sunday morning and the MIDI Expander is a vital part of the instrument. Could not live w/o it.

  • @TurtleFL
    @TurtleFL Před 10 lety

    I'm thinking either he had mikes placed all around the organ to capture it accurately and potted those up in post production OR he made use of the MIDI recorder while he was making that video and set them up, perhaps with the speakers placed to advantage, to record the playback later. You can do that with that organ. You can even readjust the acoustic environment on it.

    I actually want to know how the speakers are made and what drivers are in them. I’d imagine that given the real lows to highs, the speakers must have a pretty wide frequency response.

  • @paulj0557tonehead

    Why would ANYONE buy a Lowrey when they could have this?!?
    How was this recorded? Sounds amazing through my stereo
    Will anyone ever offer an extensive sample/emulated midi pack of all of the great electronic organs such as the Wurlitzer 4500,4700, 950, 4410 electrostatic reed, 4602 ES reed, Thomas Trianon, Palace III, Californian 263, Conn Classic,Artison,650,Trinidad (okay I'm a sucker for that spinet theater organ), Gulbransen Rialto K, Rialto II, Hammond A,BV,Elegante, Lowrey DSO-1...& more?

    How much does an organ like this cost and where can you acquire one? I've got a 1969 conn 651 organ, and someday I'd like to buy one like this. Much more modern and like a real organ

    Don't Allen theater organs come with classic organ stops as well? Their stoplist includes choruses of diapasons, flutes, strings and reeds that, without a trimulo, would work for church use.
    That thing sounds alright. Both the theater organ sounds and the classic sounds are pretty good.

    Nice organ. I can appreciate what Allen goes through to really create a VPO. In comparison, lol, I just got done watching a couple Lowrey videos!! I had to, just for the light! For about the same price, what a damn joke, anyone that would buy one of those glitzy, stupid, over priced toys with a zillion stupid flashing lights would have to be out of their mind, and, hahahaha, the notes all labelled like a Fisher Price! And they don't even come close to a real sound, they sound as plastic as they look. This sounds nice, night and day difference between a "real" (serious) electronic organ and one of those stupid things.

    Looks like it to me. I played one of those. Was a nice balance between pipes and electronic voices although now I prefer the digitally sampled organs like the one being demonstrated. Who needs pipes?

  • @samueladams7
    @samueladams7 Před 12 lety +1

    In case one doesn't have room for those Allen speakers, they can be replaced with a Bose Acoustimas satellite speaker system with absolutely no difference in the sound. I know of may Allen organ owners who've done this with great success.
