Often times, a girl's expectation for boys she date is modeled after her dad and the way they were treated by their dad. If a father was in her life while growing up; he opens the door for her, pulls out a chair for her, talks and listens to her, she'll expect that from a guy when she grows up. Contrastingly, if the father figure was absent, missed the bonding period, then she won't have a schema of what to look for in a male, hence some girls are clingy and needy. Lauren's dad is "American" hence she will gravitate towards familiarity
