the king is named meruem. the queen named him with her dying breath during the operation. but meruem and the royal guard had already left at that point, so they don't know his name.
they explained how leol's ability works a couple episodes back, when he used it to summon the dragonflies.
Leol's ability allows him to borrow other people's abilities for one hour. However, there are a couple conditions:
- leol must know the ability's name or have it seen in action
- leol must do a favor for the target
- then leol must express that this favor was not for free and is expected to be repaid
- the target must acknowledge so
now leol can use his rental pod to print an I.O.U and tear it apart. When he does so, the borrowed ability activates for 1 hour and the target cannot use it in that time. However, the target must be alive. If the target dies, the I.O.U becomes invalid and leol can't use the ability.
you've seen how leol offered to cheetu to remove knuckle's APR from him. then he said he won't do it for free. cheetu agreed. this set leol up to borrow cheetu's ability as well. that is why he wanted to watch cheetu's fight with morel, because he didn't know the name or the ability yet. once he knows those, he can borrow cheetu's ability as well.
The bird is an enigma. In episode 100/101 it flew away from Netero when he was charging up his malice/aura, now it flys away from Meruem to attack Komugi when Meruem intends to kill Komugi.

The bird probably just got spooked by the King releasing his en and bloodlust. That's what set it off and sent it into a frenzy. I think that's why they show us a few seconds of the bird getting scared and flying off.
Why it chose to attack Komugi is either a coincidence or it just picked the weakest target nearby.
The king changing and reforming makes the guards look so evil they never show compassion. I think they just weren’t as smart as the king to realize morality
26:00 A fan theory about the bird is that Netero was using it to monitor the movements around the palace, mostly due to the flash of nen in its eyes in an earlier episode while he meditated on the rock, the bird flew into its aura then left and has now been hanging out at the palace. Why it attacked Komugi is more mysterious and ambiguous. Some believe it reacted that way by being hit with Meruem's intent at the moment he released his ren, as we see the eagle fly off as he releases his aura. There are complicated rules up for debate about that though. Its very unlikely to be a random bird infiltration attack in any case, there was something to it, but its not explicitly explained, open to interpretation.
I was actually just thinking that it could have been Pitou instead of Netero because, 1) did you listen to their conversation and 2) she’s a manipulator.
@@BennLuvsYou24 No, it's Netero, we first see it flew from Netero's aura charging in episode 100/101.
That makes no sense whatsoever.
- They know the king is staying in the palace until the selection is over. Why would they need to scout if hes still there?
- From the Knov episode, you know they already know the layout of the castle, again why do they need to scout?.
- They can use En to immediately know where everyone is inside the palace (remember, grandpa Zeno can use En up to 300m if he goes all out, they at episode 132 on patreon so its not a spoiler) , so again, there is no need to scout ahead.
- Eyes reflect light regardless, its just a visual of Netero radiating a lot of Nen.
- My guess is that Togashi didnt want the bird to be just a prop to show off how intense Netero's aura is, so he gave Netero's murderous intent a fatefull twist of cause and effect and saved Komugi's life indirectly.
