I like the idea that monsters can grab Daniela's wrench and hit her with it. Maybe they'll take Bob's briefcase and hit him with it next.
8:37 Regarding the ability of Monterey Jacks Trusty Bullwhip - the evade ability will not necessarily be the same difficulty as a regular evasion since here you check against the combat value of the enemy instead of agility. So its useful for exhausting hard-to-evade but easy-to-hit enemies (thematically makes total sense if you think about a whip)

to be fair, i Just recently got into this game, aaand the fact that they aren't adding some new type of game mechanic/token is honestly a slight relief, as I no longer have to keep learning new aspects with each expansion. I also recently figured out the buying guide after watching your vids....unfortunately it was after i had bought three deluxe expansions.,.. i then learned I would need to buy all 6 cycle packs for them....
and in a final twist of irony, the first Full cycle i recently decided to get was for the Dunwich Legacy,. and as it turns out... thats the first one they are going to repackage...
i just hope they repackage the other expansion cycles, since well, i already have the dunwich legacy lol

It's possible (I reckon sort of likely) that the Edge of the Earth campaign will have a new mechanic.
On the bright side, the (old) deluxe expansions do give you investigators and a lot of player cards, which can be used in any campaign. You can read the guides (and maybe reviews) for the campaigns you have and pick the one that's the most interesting to you/your group to hunt down packs for. I'm not a fan of the old model and am happy that I'll only need to track down one box to get the whole EotE campaign when my group is ready to play it.
They're probably re releasing in sequential order. It would make sense for all the new players starting at revised core
I still have three random mythos packs needed for Carcosa, preventing me from playing that cycle, and it wouldnt make sense for me to rebuy it in this format, unless chasing those three packs down will be more expensive than just replacing the whole campaign.
@@RyanHipp i feel its a way for them to sell older cards in stock, whilst saving on packaging and what not, and itll just help with the confusion to new players, as a lot of the older Mythos packs are simply out of stock, or have been scalped at outrageous prices.
In the same boat, I'd bought a couple of scenarios for Dunwich (as I kept seeing them out-of-stock I snapped them up when they came back... but now there's no problem getting them), so with the announcement that the campaigns were going to be distributed differently, I quickly bought the deluxe box and the rest of the scenarios for Dunwich. I'd be pretty happy if the other campaigns came in straight-forward campaign/player box format going forward; I'll be content with Dunwich (and also EotE) for now, I think.
The new core boxes I think come with a choas black bag to put the tokens into.

I use a black sunglass bag that I had lying around. I say lying around although it must have arrived in the house via some kind of Dream-Gate judging by the evil nature of its timing. It's not the despair that crushes you, its the hope.
Obviously I can't get rid of it now as it is attached to the core set and I couldn't face seeing it show up again even if I burn it down with the house
Monterey Jack was also a character in Disney's Rescue Rangers.
Just received my copy - and glad to have given this video a viewing. Nice job guys for the guide and I am very pleased with the expansion EXCEPT the crap box again. Very disappointed they haven't taken the opportunity for this new release format to update this useless box system.

excellent VIDEO - I am am trying to DECIDE between this box and a second old style 2 player CORE BOX.
Don't envy you that decision. Luckily we have videos on those to help you make up your mind.
I've just received it, the box footprint is ridiculous for something that cannot be reused in any way, shape or form. FFG are really starting to annoy me (being polite). It doesn't need a huge picture for us to know what it is. Obviously used to inflate the price.
They could certainly have fit the contents into an original deluxe box size package. But there needs to be a way to distinguish it from the original Deluxe Expansions.
@@ArkhamChronicle Agreed, a smaller rectangular box would have done the trick, a bit like the Return to boxes, but half the size. We shall see what mess they come up with when the actual campaign comes out'
How did you receive it? Everything I've been seeing says it doesn't release officially until the end of November. I've assumed that videos like this were showing early release copies given to media people and such.

Looking at the dimensions of the Campaign box, I am worried that one will be useless as well and we'll need to wait for a "Return" box to be able to actually store the cards properly.

Hello! I've recently gone through the Core Box and was wondering if you suggest this as a good first investigator box / cycle?
If you can get hold of the Dunwich Legacy box instead we would suggest that. But this has new player cards and investigators to help with your deckbuilding.
Would this be a good starter expansion over dunwhich legacy? i was told dunwhich legacy is just an extension of the core which is more of the lines i am looking to achieve
Dunwich would be better for new players but it is currently hard to get hold of all the parts.
Can not find anywhere in UK, maybe in few months when next wave is pushed out.

Since I have two core boxes, does anyone think it is silly to get a revised core box when it is released in the future for the new rules reference? and just to get a third set of cards?
Mostly, yes. Unless you're very comfortable money-wise. There might be a token or two that's new, I don't know, but you can likely grab the updated rules online one way or another. Or just try and buy the booklet itself on Ebay.

How many cards in total in this investigator expansion? I only found online that it's "around" 250 cards.
The back of the box says 228 cards + 5 Investigators + 5 mini cards

Sorry, I'm going to have to unsubscribe. Your channel is great and I hope it grows, I just can't take watching board game stuff anymore. After buying and investing in so many great games, I have not found a single person to play with and no longer have space to play losing everything to pandemic burdens. Lita is a great character.
