FR. SERAPHIM ROSE TALKING ABOUT FR. GEORGE CALCIU. SEE CAPTIONS

Father Seraphim Rose is one of the great apologists of Orthodoxy.
Protestant, educated in the academic environment of linguistic sciences, he was baptized Orthodox in 1962 and became a disciple of St. Ioan Maximovici, Metropolitan of San Francisco. He founds the monastery of St. German of Alaska in Platina, California, where he is a monk and where he will publish a series of books through which he makes accessible to modern youth the ancient wisdom and life experience of the Fathers of Orthodoxy.
A few weeks before he left for God (September 2, 1982) he gave the lecture "Living the Orthodox perspective on the world" (from which we reproduce the present fragment) in which he refers to the famous 7 Words of Father Gheorghe Calciu who was then imprisoned in Aiud .
Unfortunately, they did not meet personally, Father Calciu being expelled to the USA only in 1985, then becoming an intimate friend of the monks of the Platina monastery and the hermitages in Alaska affiliated to it.
