Thanks so much for being patient and understanding!🥹 It was painful to have to wait to see Seventeen’s new stuff but I wanted to make sure I was clear from lingering COVID and mentally clear to absorb their greatness.😅 When I’m not in the clear, I’m unable to see clear, if that makes any sense. Carats are so awesome!
FYI: Minghao was still recovering from an injured collarbone. That's why he only does choreo for the second chorus, and the very end. But he still slayed the hell out of it.

It’s so cool because the song is about Journey to the West / Dragon Ball Z and they way they styled Dino with his hair is like the Super Saiyans in the cartoon!

I'm not a carat, but I might be on my way. Super is genuinely the most impressive main choreography I've sen from a group it might be the best choreo a kpop group has ever had on a technical and performance perspective

This choreo is the most satisfying thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve watched this at least 100 times since it came out.
FML's two title tracks F*ck My Life (which is literally my comfort song right now) and Super are connected. . .
- I really recommend f*ck my life since it really hit so hard.
For the record, NOTHING was CGI. There were a total of 240 dancers in addition to Seventeen: 40 that perform WITH Seventeen (the "crew") and the additional 200 dancers in the background, all of whom are actually giving a performance if you watch some of the extra dance practice choreos for the extra dancers. AMAZING!
Seventeen are undeniable my favorite and very much ultimate group in kpop because they always evolve

The8 actually fractured his left collarbone in February and couldn't participate in the whole dance; so I'm really grateful they "showcased" him during his recovery time...because he TRULY looks very regal! King-like in fact! He has since recovered, and will be incorporated more into the live performances...although, even if he did nothing but just appear like he does in "Super", I could live with it!
i'm a STAY, and this song does for me something that before only skz could do, idk what it is it just tingles my ears, my eyes and my soul. I'm on my seventeen journey ever since I heard this masterpiece (watching them literally everyday).

Depending on taste, and being new to them, "Case 143" is what introduced and motivated me to learn all their names lol. Then after that "God's Menu" helped me get into them so much more. Hope's this helps as someone new to them too!

Sonogong is the Korean name! In Chinese it's Son Wukong and in Japanese its Son Goku!Aka the name and inspiration for the main character of the anime Dragon Ball! The song and choreo has several references to both the original myth AND the anime Dragon Ball ( and Dragon Ball Z) The move they constantly do where they put two fingers up to their foreheads- In Dragon Ball Z, Goku dies that to use Instant Transmission (basically teleporting). Also in the MV, Dino does a quick "kamehameha" which is probably the most famous move/power from the show.

Another little bit of info: Sonogong/Sunwukong is also the inspiration for the character Goku!! In the song there are some references to the original Chinese tale as well as the anime Dragonball Z! ^^ Like the last line where Woozi says "manhwa ending song" like manga/anime. I guess the English title is Super like superhero almost?? anyway, it's always so much fun to watch your reactions!!! :D

BTW this song is a Sonwukong/DragonballZ inspired as you notice most of the lyrics and movements are inspired from Goku/sonogong... that Dino and jun part is a wave of power and Scoups and joshua line mention "flying cloud" and "power pole".... Dino did the kamehameha in the MV.. Woozi part about the massive shot power of Goku and the last line is "this is a cartoon credit song"

Seventeen "Super" MV was inspired by SWF/SMF's Mega Crew Mission. That's why there are so many dancers
If you will watch Inside Seventeen about the behind the scene of this you will be amaze by how they master every step..even though they're so exhausted they keep on repeating until the perfect it... it's just I feel bad for the8 he really want to perform this song so much but unfortunately he still cant because of his shoulder injury....they practiced with 240 dancers in just one day and they shoot the MV the next day...

I was 15 then, who went to every Korean market store to find the entertainment section to rent VHS tapes with all the SBS Inkigayo shows of performances, bought CDs, etc. K-pop definitely existed before CZcams.😀
