    And Jordan never called himself that because he respect those players who played before him.
    And James does flops. MJ never did that. That's another reason why MJ is THE GOAT. NBA before is so physical compared to today's NBA. When you get fouled before it is because it's real. Now? Some players including James, pretends getting hurt even if its very obvious that they were not even hit

      Zamppa86 hahaha 😂 zone defense didn’t even existed back than, and all of the nineties defenders are suck so no one could guard mj... mj wouldn’t survive the skill era of the ‘00-‘20

    • @Zamppa86
      @Zamppa86 Před 4 lety +132

      Claiming "MJ would not survive the 00-20 era" just proved you know nothing about basketball or simply are way too young to know and understand.
      The era when MJ played, 80s and 90s, was dominated by big men, centers ruled the league. There was physicality and real defense. Smaller players were punished physically when they drove to the paint. Contacts were allowed. Hand checking was allowed. Yet still MJ managed to score the most points and did it efficiently. It was 'unnatural' for a shooting guard to score with above 50 % shooting during that time but MJ did it. His averages also went up during the playoffs but of course he aswell had bad games as he was also just a human. The best basketball player of all time but still human.
      This "skill era" as you call it began around 2003 when less contact was allowed and hand checking became prohobited. NBA did this because they wanted more scoring and highlights to sell more tickets and to get more money. That made it easier for guards to score and harder to defend when less and less contact was allowed.
      MJ averaged 35 ppg and 37 ppg efficiently at the late 80s when contact was allowed much more and hand checking was allowed along with real paint protection. So don't come claiming he would not survive this era :D Several former players have announced that MJ would average 40 ppg during this softer era.
      Your claim has now been totally destroyed.

  • @rocket208
    @rocket208 Před 5 lety +47

    People never mention the defense as much as they should, defense is half of the whole game. Imagine being absolutely feared on both ends of the court for almost a whole career. MJ would lock up whoever he was defending and easily put up 30 points. Even if his efficiency was lower than Lebron's, his defense would make up for it by creating turnovers for the opponents and more points for his team. The Bulls in the MJ era were known for being an unreal defense and that's how they got a lot of points, but also imagine MJ averaging 35+ ppg while also wreaking havoc on the defensive side as well.

He didn’t like it when they traded Oakley, picked up Kukoc (I mean him and Scottie made it their personal mission to embarrass him at the Olympics after hearing he might come on the team), and especially Rodman (the pistons need I say more). Also keep in mind, when Jordan came to Chicago Bulls, the basketball team was so bad that the soccer team was getting a bigger draw at the stadium (no offense to soccer but you get my point). MJ worked with what he got whether he liked it or not and actually made his team better (compare the bulls without Jordan compared to Lebrons teams when he leaves). Lebron has had more control over his team than any other player in the NBA yet he still has excuses about how he doesn’t have a good enough team despite creating super team after super team. Lebron should listen to Nike and just do it instead of making excuses.

    Those guys had to compete with him. „Get to my work ethics level, or get off my floor!“
    So the Bulls had a great season when he left. They had the best possible training, all the time.

But Jordan is the most legitimate one who has almost no meltdowns, far more accolades and team sucess. But one reason I can't endure is to say Lebron formed a superteam. Cause if Lebron's team is a superteam, than Jordan's Bulls which gain more sucess is a super super super team. Plus, Jordan teams are usually the favorites in playoffs despite the first few years. But the only time Lebron's team has been the obvious favorite is in 2011 and 2013 and he chokes in 2011 which I am sill mad of and 2013. Lebron is slightly higher, percentage-wise, from the field than Jordan. This is mainly due to rules changes that benefit the offensive player nowadays and clears the lane for easy baskets as opposed to when Jordan played. Also, if Jordan didn't come back to the Wizards, his lifetime fg% would be somewhere around 52%. That is amazing for a 2-guard who shot that much in the era in which he did it in.

      @@kcire-tv3wy I don't see how much easier is now a days in comparison to MJ era. Why do you think there's a lot more 3 points than on those days? That's caused by rules restrictions that used to be on defense that allowed the better players to score easier (isolation era). Zone defense or leave guarding a player wasn't allowed (what a joke). Current era is much more tougher. All 1 to 1 great players like mj and kobe thinks the same. All things about it was much more
      physical or what ever is bullshit. Watch a match and come again.

    • @ericjordan6059

      @@GattsuFTW ... LOL I've been watching the game for close to 40 years so I'm not speaking from heresy. And you have absolutely no clue as to what you are talking about.
      In those days, the 3 was looked at as a novelty shot because you can never be super efficient using it. Also, if you did get fouled shooting it back then, you only got 2 shots (As I can recall, in 86 when Chicago and Boston played in the playoffs, Jordan got fouled by McHale shooting a 3. Jordan went to the line with :00 left and they were down by 2. He made em both but the Bulls lost in OT. Imagine if he'd had that 3rd shot!!!).
      Nowadays, rules changes allow for players to push off, iso-play and take extra-steps so they can get open shots more easily (along with the lack of physical presence consistently in the lane), assisted by weak defensive efforts these "stronger, bigger, faster" players play.
      Back then, you had more than a few teams who played what was called floating zones, which allowed help for players who weren't apt at playing tough defense (the Celtics AND LA ran the hell out of it and you see what Jordan did to it when he scored 63 against Boston in the 86 playoffs correct?). And yes they could also use trap defense to double and triple team. You had to commit to it. You couldn't stand in a space where you guarded no one at all. THAT is how that rule worked. Learn it!
      Today's league and players are a fucking joke and a lot wouldn't do well. Look at Russell Westbrick. He had a bitch fit a few weeks back when they played GS and he was fouled by Thompson. That was 1 fucking foul. Imagine getting handchecked or an arm-bar your whole career. It takes a lot out of you and can affect your game.
      The rules have changed to make it easier for the offensive player to get to the basket (League officials and higher ups have stated this plenty of times years ago. You didn't get the memo?!?!). Look at the proof, Lebron and Kobe's scoring jumped around 2005-2006, Tony Parker was waltzing into the lane like he lived there. Steve Nash got 2 MVP awards waltzing up in the lane. You have no clue.
      As I've stated before, I have been watching this game for a long time and the shit these new players get away with is a fucking travesty. You know it is. Do some more homework before you come talking to me.

    Lebron’s assists numbers are a function of him being the center of the offense. He brings the ball up the court. Jordan didn’t play in that sort of offense under Phil Jackson. When Jordan actually played point guard for the latter half of the 1988-89 season, he put up crazy numbers. He averaged nearly a triple double.

    The real reason really lies in the first minute of the video. Back then, things were different, or more specifically, much harder. Tougher defense, more aggressive and no easy baskets as of today. It’s more of a show today’s NBA where it’s more about generating spectacular content rather than the sport it was set out to be. Just go back to the 97/98-finals and watch the level of roughness the players had to deal with. I think true basketball fans truly miss ideas like hand-checking, because it allowed for great dynamics and balance between defense and offense. I cannot put Lebron higher since Jordan would totally obliterate all competition if he had played in today’s era.

The standard isn’t to be as good or close to him, it’s to be better than Mj. No one can really say that LeBron has definitively shown to be better than Jordan.
    He has holes in his game, can’t humble himself to play in an actual system, padded his stats in losing situations, and had a choke job in the biggest stage. 2011 was fucking horrible and just because it happened a long time ago, doesn’t mean it’s gonna go away.
