- Exploring The Abandoned Bowery Station in New York City.
Disclaimer: Do not attempt to visit these places as it is dangerous and not safe. These films are recorded with extreme precaution so you can watch it safely and comfortably at home in full detail of the New York City’s left behind history.
The abandoned side is in better condition than the open side
Ha ha and that was built in 1913 for the elevated rail and streetcars that no longer exist this is the J Z line were I believe the rapper got his name it's right under delancey st. In lower manhatten not far from little italy and SOHO. South of houston st
Sure gives a whole new meaning to the lyric, "I'll never go there anymore."
This isn't really abandoned. This station is often used to shoot films and shows
It is technically abandoned, it is off grounds to the public and not in service for the public. But films and tv shows do use this station because it’s easier to film.
@@silhouette_nyc although its sometimes used whenever a train is stalled at bowery or canal st
Can you imagine all the exposed asbestos that are in these places?
@@Animalfarm6cats yeah subway stations didnt used asbestos but ive been to places (namely creedmoor state hospital) out in queens which have insane amounts of asbestos enough to give atleast 1000 3 year olds cancer.
The Wiz I know for sure was filmed here
This can be spotted on maybe on the (J) and (Z) Bowery Station
It belonged to (J),Brown (M) and (Z) and was closed in 2004 due to the current platform we have now
Nice video bro hope to see more
is anyone gonna talk about the fact that the station had the old lights the mta used to have
Valid video🙌🏾
🤝🏻
What was the MTA's reason for closing that half of the station? And what is the real reason why it was closed? Because you won't get the truth from the MTA.
The station was built as a 4-track express station but there had not been any express service on the line for decades. Until 2004 they used just the local track on each platform. Now they use what was originally the Broad Street-bound platform for both directions since all the trains are local anyway. That's it. Not very exciting.
This station literally froze in 2004ish
AWESOME VIDEO
How do you get there? Im planning on going there soon to explore.
Small correction - only one of the two platforms is abandoned.
4 track station all J/Z/M use uptown northbound platform then switch back after station wasn't it support to be repaired but wasn't due to lack of ridership???
Theirs so much to see underground as a ex graffiti artist you wouldn't believe what lies in those tunnels.
Cool vlog you know why bowery and chambers lower closed because the elevated rails and street cars were abolished so only 2 tracks are used now instead of4
Well then what Abandon Stanton should you look for next’s?
nice videoo bro👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for the support ✊🏻✊🏻
How was it so dark???
the video has a filter
So you still have access to a abandoned station?
How do you access this?
The entire J/M/Z Essex St loop line is amazing connections everywhere to other lines via ramps one is right after essex St connecting to the Culver line at 2nd Ave good info in books on the subway better if they have old maps
Blue color grading was not necessary.
Would be even better if we weren't watching it through a tinted window.
Obviously it's not abandoned if the light are on, and you can hear train announcements in the station.
Its a part abandoned station the other half is open
Light are away on in these abandoned places. Make you go hmmm. Light bulbs that never go out in these abandoned places. Spooky.
lights are on because its connected to a active train station. be honest, do you actually think a station with no rails is still in use?
How do you get here?
How do i get in touch with you??
Oh so that’s why there are some black squares on the Bowery Station walls…
It’s giving Infinite Warfare Zombies shaolin shuffle map
Backrooms - Abandoned Station Footage
I was just thinking of that. 😱
neat
why did they close it?
The station was built like an express station with two island platforms and four tracks. As far back as I can remember they only used two tracks but they were what would normally be the "local" side of each platform. The "express" tracks ended one stop over at Canal Street anyway. In the 2000s they closed one platform at Bowery and shuffled things around so both directions just use the remaining platform. They did something similar at Canal at the same time, though that was a little more involved because the two platforms there were previously connected with the inner tracks dead-ending at the crossover..
gang🔥
😉😉
Imagine how much energy is wasted lighting up dead stations. How bout ya turn of the frickin lights when ya abandon the station. Or is there no off switch?
The platform isnt used for regular but it is used for other purposes. Maintenance, storage, work trains, reroutes of trains in passenger service.
Yo I called the number and this idiot answered the phone yo asking if I wanted to buy* I was like you crazy eh 🧐
Who would rent a woman.... from there??
Sounds suspicious.
try going to 18th street xd
Why are the lights still on?
@hubertvancalenbergh9022
The MTA knows that people will trespass down here, and it helps keep people from getting killed in the dark, and also for maintenance reasons as well. If a water pipe, or electrical issue occurs causing smoke or fire it will be spotted quicker, and yes even these abandoned platforms, at least many of them have security cameras in them too,
I know you get this alot but Jesus Christ loves you very much and I don't want you to miss out on what he has for you to please turn to Jesus ✝️💞✝️✝️🙏
seek help, please and thank you
