Like if u take out bethesdas name I would've never known it was made by the ppl made skyrim
It has alot of fallout though, from settlement building to hiring recruits.
It also seems to have Oblivions dialogue thing that shows up to an npc face and stuff but nahhh very little that is inspired by skyrim....

How in the world you show that game is a huge problem. I don’t think they did a great job.
Modern gamers tend to have no idea how games are made, so you no longer get credit for being a role playing game that is simulating a dozen genres that you can swap between as your adventure takes you. People want to compare every genre to games that are dedicated versions of that genre. The idea that it’s a completely unreasonable expectation doesn’t even occur to them.

There's a reason why Skyrim is still popular, why Elden Ring is being compared to 11 year old Skyrim or even Zelda: Breath of the Wild - none of these games are technical showpieces yet they're still very relevant in a way games about exploration are being made and Starfield will be another game others will be compared for years to come. I don’t know if Fortza would actually be interested nor if damage is due to what is being “allowed.”
Real damage would add exponential more work to the project and all the cars they feature in the game, and the physics associated would tax the processor way harder. And for what benefit? Is the Fortza audience really THAT into damage? Generally it’s less fun to drive a damaged car.
I think it makes more sense for damage to be relegated to Games where that is a gameplay focus. But I can’t say what MA specific reasons for not including it are. Maybe it’s manufacturer rules, but maybe it’s a creative decision.

just to clarify further: fans have been begging Atlus to release a definitive version of P3 that includes all features (full controllable party, femc route, anime cutscenes, the answer, etc.) for ages now. P3P is missing cutscenes, overworld traversal and the answer while FES doesn't have full party control and femc route. So it'd just make sense to put everything together and rerelease it as a definitive edition of the game. Maybe even modernize certain aspects of the game so it's easier for fans of the newer entries to get in.
Yet, after all those years this is (apparently) everything we get - P3P with a terrible AI filter.
As I said before - the fact that these games will be available beyond Playstation platforms is great. A lazy port instead of what could've been for your favorite game of all time is just a bitter pill to swallow. But yeah, maybe there'll be more...

Starfield is underwhelming at this moment because I think a lot of the strength points they hit on, are things that most gamers have moved on from. After years of massive, open world games with a ton of busy work and scattered resources, the idea of 1000 planets isn't really appealing to many people. Size is no longer really a strength just on its own. Everything needs polish, attention and meaning. You need to feel like there's important world building, or just fun stuff to do everywhere otherwise that size becomes a weakness, and everything is just arbitrarily spaced out. It becomes inconvenient.
I also feel like announcing you can drive the ships you customize was supposed to be a big popoff moment when really at this point that's just expected. If you're playing a massive budget game in space, space travel is an expectation. It's early, so I'll look past the horrible combat AI, I'm sure that gets worked on, and even though it's never been a strong point for Bethesda you gotta hold out hope and make judgements on that closer to release. But nothing in terms of combat conceptually or technically seems like a step forward for them, which is more concerning. Hopefully we see steps forward in that regard.
I think given their last few releases, and what we've seen so far of Starfield, Bethesda is no longer ahead of the curve. They're no longer pushing the medium forward with creativity or innovation. They're just part of the curve and if you're going to be part of the curve, you need to execute at an absolutely elite level. We'll see if they do that but I think most people are pretty worried they wont, and the more they show of this game, seems to only add to those worries. I hope they crush it with this game, I hope it's a return to form, I think it can be but like most people something feels really off.

I disagree. Still to this point nobody has rivaled hat Bethesda does. They do DIFFERENT things. And maybe some gamers prefer what those other games do instead. But nobody rivals Bethesda AT THEIR OWN GAME.
Case in point, when Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 came out, everyone unfavorably compared Fallout to The Witcher because they were hung up on how good The Witcher looked, completely ignoring that The Witcher features incredibly limited player options and world breadth when compared to Fallout 4. When CD Projekt Red tried to do a more open, Bethesda-like game with Cuberpunk, people saw how hard that is to pull off and how suddenly the “flaws” were more equal when they were comparing apples to apples.
You’re right that Bethesda is not going to ah e to be compared to No Mans Sky and Mass Effect, and they are going to lose that comparison for SOME gamers particular interests. But overall this is still a concept where a lot of gamers have still had their desires unfulfilled. There is ample room for a game more open than Mass Effect and yet more “crafted” than No Man’s Sky.

For example the custom Star-Ships are simply amazing (but also something that wouldn't work in SC).

Highlights are Pentiment & Scorn for me.
Ready to skip anything put out by Riot & Blizzard.
Starfield, looks okay. The space combat is best part of this gameplay reveal. The gun sounds are low, surface combat audio mixing seemed off in general, maybe that's volume control. Dialogue is generic, but I wouldn't call it bad, it's possible they picked lines to show off that don't grab your attention necessarily. Maybe it's avoiding spoilers?
Personally, I'm over the base building and crafting mechanics. Already feel exasperated by it.
Over 1k planets? You shouldn't have. No really, you shouldn't have. Procedurally generated stuff, feels like procedurally generated stuff. If you think about it, that technically is how it would feel in real life, lots of planets would feel very similar. That's why maybe you skip that feature and focus on something that feels more interesting.
Lastly, it was mentioned elsewhere that the "surface to space" transition won't be in the game. It would have been cool, but it was cut to prioritize other features, which I think is a good choice. That does reduce immersion, but if you make a better and more fun game, rather than fighting the Creation Engine for months? Solid choice.
Starfield overall is a bit average for me. I'm a bit disappointed by the interesting stuff on the surface, honestly. I know mods will make it better, but it shouldn't have to be that way. Bethesda stories have never been the strongest point for the games for me either. On the plus side, the space combat looks fun, a nice surprise that I didn't think was possible in the Creation Engine. I'm really curious how they managed it.

I mean I can see why they would focus only on games coming in next 12 months as making presentations from games that are still very far away would in most cases be waste of time/energy. some CGI teaser trailers do very little to create any excitment and if gameplay is shown from game that is way too far away, many things could change....take Everwild for example that got its development rebooted

That’s a weird take. Each of their games is dramatically different than each other. Each elder scrolls game has been DRAMATICALLY different and more complex than the last.
Fallout is dramatically different from Wlder Scrolls due to VATS as well as it being a low rent FPS.
The idea that they just make things bigger is silly.

That was an awful showcase. Absolutely nothing even remotely surprising. Blizzard BS, Bethesda BS. Arkane doing the same game over and over with a different skin every few years and getting worse, what happened?? And the only few interesting games are coming to PC anyways or are already there.. What exactly is the purpose of the Xbox these days? How many dozens of studios have they bought over the years? Where are these studios games? Bethesda hasn't produced a good game since freaking Morrowind and eventually Oblivion.. Activision Blizzard is sucking the living hell out of peoples purses for years now and has the produced some of the worst games ever recently. Rare has been burried. 343 is a shell of its former self.
