    At 17:24 with your medic you could have rolled to save the 3 casualties. Good fun game

    Japanese Suicide don't roll on the damage table. They do an automatic +8 on vehicles.

      Kevin O'Connor you still have to roll to penetrate and if you do you roll on the table.

    The Japanese players luck was so horrible I actually felt bad for him by the end of this. I play Japanese myself and its always satisfying to blow a tank up with a suicide troop ;)

      Not sure. I think it may be from frontline gaming.

    Pretty cool game guys! That Japanese suicide guy is pretty potent to take out a tank. Speaking of, I need to get me a M8 printed up. Do you know if that was exclusive for the Pacific only? This would have been a good table to play for Chain of Command. One other thing is the Japanese knee mortars didn't seem too powerful...or what that of crappy die rolls?

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  Před 5 lety +2

      Yeah the m8 was in Europe. The knee mortars are not great. But they can get lucky. And if you have several in a squad they have more chances.

    i got alot stuff from this game boltaction but i fail to see a strategy behind it its just luck if you play germans with the tow mg42 rule you allways win in my opinion any idears on that ? i fail to see a strategy to really win its just move abit with the germans and everyone will die from your infantry squads with two mg42 coz they will never walk again after you hit them one time and the pin rain they get is almost funny almost any idears on that ? tip? is flames of war better for tactics or is this table top just luck ?

    • @cronykil74
      @cronykil74 Před 4 lety +1

      German MG42s don't add any extra pins over normal LMGs so if you're firing your squad with a couple of LMGs then it's still only dealing a single pin. Most of the time sitting still for the whole game isn't really a good idea as you should be moving to seize objectives. Tactics usually comes in the form of picking the correct unit to activate, maximising outflanking and reserves and suppressing enemy units. It all depends on what mission you're playing and what the enemy army consists of. All games are based on luck but BA feels less like it's about luck than say 40K or AoS. Every time I've played Flames of War it's felt very rock-paper-scissors.

      @@cronykil74 Exactly. Bolt Action does not favor any one particular nationality/faction though some would save the free artillery spotter for Britain is a tad overpowered. Needless to say, there is strategy involved with Bolt Action. I think you may be misinterpreting the rule set fdsfggr for (as Cronykil stated) pins are accrued one at a time (i.e. one per attack so long as one or more of the attack rolls are successful) though some weapon types reward +pin accrual.
