A couple of years ago my ac quit getting cold after driving down to Florida from Georgia. The next day it started working again. I noticed the compressor was a bit noisy when engaging. I took it to a local shop when I got back home. I had them evacuate and vacuum down the system, add some oil, and put the same refrigerant back in. It's been working perfectly ever since. I think I caught it in the nick of time! 👍

You hear a PSST when the cap came off. Probably the AC leak is the shrader valve should not have much pressure under it . Change the valve good to go

We used to be able to do that down under, until the late 1980s. Then when R134a replaced R12, no more cans. Even a registered A/C tech can't legally top up a system now, must be evacuated, vacuum tested before refilling. You guys over there think you're over regulated? 😆
Technically that is the correct way to fix the AC system on your car, is to put a UV dye into the system to detect any leaks. Then vacuum out the system, repair the leaks then vac test and fill. As putting anything with stop leak in it like what some of those can have, will cause problems down the line that will result in a huge repair bill. Usually I have found that where the line’s connect to the back of the compressor will be where the leak is.
Hubby should be the one doing this and wife shouldn't be anywhere around being pregnant IMNSHO🙂
